I just moved in this morning. It's the first place where I know literally no one in the city, even though it's only about an hour from home.
I moved into one of those college apartments where you have your own room and bathroom, but share a livingroom and kitchen with 3-4 other girls.
Today was one of the last move in days, and it was widely known, with banners everywhere. So, I go up to my new apartment, so excited that this is my first one I got with no help from anyone else, and what do I find when I go inside? Utter, total FILTH. There were dirty dishes with fucking bugs in the sink. Empty bottles and drug store bags all over the floor, the entire refrigerator an dall cabnets were full, so where the hell am I supposed to put my shit?
Oh, and it's furnished apartments, so one of the roomates decided to bring her own coffee table and side table, so she stacked the ones that were already in there right against my door. There is a fee for removing furniture, and I didn't bring my own, so that sure as hell is not my responsability! So, I dragged them back out into the living room, and left them there. Along with a note on the refrigerator saying to wash the dishes so we don't get roaches. And, there were clothes everywhere. Doors were left open, trash was on the floor. I can't fucking believe this. You'd think it'd be common curtesy to not live like that in a community type arangement, but espescially when you know you have a new roomate moving in that day. What the hell?
It even gets better. So I signed for room B, which is bigger (and it says your letter all over the lease), but when I got up there, one of the girls shit was already in my room. I was getting ready to leave a note, saying please remove your stuff out of my room when maintenance came by. He told me to check my kes in the otehr doors. It worked for the smallest room... which is significantly smaller, but totally secluded in the very back. The big room, which I actually signed for, opens straight out into the living room, and is right across from the front door. So I can't decide if I want the bigger room which I signed for and to make this bitch move, or if I want the smaller room, but have nearly total privacy in my very own corner of the house behind the kitchen.
What room would you choose? Is there anything I can do about my messy and obviously inconsiderate roomates? I just signed this lease for a year. I was even thinking I should throw some of their shit out since I was told I would hjave my own cabnit and own shelf in the fridge, but there was 0 room. It was packed.
Ugh. Help!?!

Also me being me, I might clean everything..(I have nasty shit and bugs, yuck barf !) then tell them this is how I expect it to remain, in a nice way of course.
