    Default Taking a hiatus

I've been dancing for about 2 1/2 years now. I'm planning a major move and it seems that it would be best not to dance for a month or two to get situated in my new area and other issues settled. I'm fine with money and I have a good idea what club I will work at, but I've never taken that long of a break and I'm a bit nervous about it. What I'm mostly worried about is that I've been doing well lately and I have a good work rhythm and I fear that I might lose that.

For others, how hard or easy was it to get back into dancing after taking some time off? When you started again, did you take it slow to get back into the swing of things or just rush in full steam ahead?

    Thanks all!

You'll be fine. I've come and gone from dancing for years without a problem. If you've got a good work rhythm now there's no reason that you'd lose it. The catch is if you're moving to an area where the clubs have a very different hustle than what you're used to, or if they're dead, or super sleazy. That could screw things up until you find your groove.

You're muscles will probably be extra sore when you first return, but you will also get new girl money, which is always good.

I just started dancing again after over a year break. It's like riding a bicycle as far as the hustle goes. The muscle soreness is the thing to watch out for, but if you've only been out a month you should be fine. Just make sure to keep working out so you dont lose muscle tone and can feel confident when you return.

Thanks! I didn't even think about the whole muscle soreness thing. I'll try to get to a gym during that time.
