I know a few girls who use divacup and they love it. i've never heard of the moon cup though.

I have a Diva and LOVE it. I never tried Mooncup because I never had a problem with my Diva. I started bleeding a little a work the other day and I made my bf bring me my cup b/c I refuse to use tampons now.
I've used Instead's before- I *think* they're about the same thing? It's a flexible ring with plastic to hold the blood- and it does really work. But getting it out is a messy pain in the ass!

^^ No they are not the same
I have a diva cup but rarely wear it because it doesn't fit me right or something. It still leaks and is really messy to take out. I was really really was excited to get it but i guess it was too good 2 be true. They say it takes awhile to get used to it, maybe i'll try it again next period

Isn't the mooncup just in the UK?
I love my Divacup

Mooncup uk is made by Mooncup and Mooncup is made by Keeper. You can get both in the US, though. I believe there were some legal issues involving the name because of the copyright.
How is it different from the Instead cup?
Mooncup/divacup are different from Instead because Instead is a rubber latex, one-time-use flexible cup placed over the cervix to hold menstrual blood. Mooncup is silicone and reusable, and sits/forms a vacuum about halfway up your vaginal canal. You can boil a divacup or a mooncup and reuse them for years.

I saw them at the natural/whole foods store the other day. I had never seen them before and was like wtf?? Sounded interesting but I didn't want to spend the money on something I had no idea would work or not. Maybe I'll try it out now that I have the recomendation from everyone here....
I got my mooncup online

I have the divacup and love it, will never use anything else. Been using it for about 2 years now!

Here is a link to the menstrual cup community on Livejournal. http://community.livejournal.com/menstrual_cups/
It has info on the differences between the cups and how to solve problems with them ect..
Most of the posts are from people with problems seeking advice, but don't let it make you think everyone has problems. The majority probably don't.
btw ladies I don't know if this has been posted, but....
LuckyVitamins.com (they sell all kinds of great stuff like detoxifyers, teas..etc) is selling the Diva Cup (both models) for about $19.00.
so anyone looking to get one for cheaper, check them out. I just ordered one
I'm excited, I'll let you guys know how well it works.

I have the diva cup and I love love LOVE it!!!! Its not messy, its easy to insert and take out and I don't even feel it inside me like I feel tampons. Also the best part of it is it doesn't dry me out like tampons do. When you take it out you just dump it in the toilet, rinse it out with hot water and re-insert it.
I've never had a single problem with it. I got mine at London Drugs.

I just got a mooncup (off Amazon) but I'm still working out how to get the damn thing in! I really want to get away from tampons.
I keep wanting to get one, but then it slips my mind.
I really need to, as I'm an environmentalist at heart and I hate all the waste of menstrual products and diapers. Just think about all that sitting in our landfills!
Well I just bought my Divacup today. I'm giving it a test run, but its the last day of my period and kinda light so I don't think it's going to get much of a workout. I was actually pretty suprised at how easy it was to insert. From the trouble I'd read about I wasn't expecting it to just pop in place like it did. It feels kinda wierd, but nothing I can't get used to (and it may just be all in my head anyways.) So far so good!

I think I just need to get a feel for it. It popped open, but at the wrong time, every time! I think I'm going to wait till the end of my period and try again, because it was a mess and then I got dizzy. It wasn't the blood, I think it was the cramps and trying to poke around in the vag. How did you keep it from popping open too soon?
I am by all means not an expert but I think as long as it is inside you when it opens you can just use your fingers to shift it into the correct position. For me, as soon as I had it inside it popped open. When it popped open it created kind of a suction that pulled it up further inside my body. Then I just used my fingers to make sure it was in the right position surrounding my cervix. Maybe you can try to use your fingers to push it into position? Anyways I hope that helps!
you know what's interesting, is I was reading women discussing various menstrual cups such as Diva Cup, and some of them who mostly used tampons before were saying their period cramps are much better and less painful since they've been using their cup.
Makes me wonder about tampons....:/
