Hey everyone,
I'm looking to find a really good foundation and powder. I have super oily, sensitive skin and have to cover a few acne scars as well. So it needs to be good coverage and mattifying. Any suggestions would be very appreciated!

Have you tried MAC? I use there studio fix and it covers everything up.

Eh, I'm not a fan of MAC foundations. There other stuff is ok though.
These have been my recent standbys for matte makeup:
If you are going the cheap route I've really been liking Max Factor Lasting Performance Stay Put makeup. Its great ITC for me because it comes in a great variety of shades (one of very few drugstore brands that are light enough for me) and it stays put like a mofo. It is slightly dry (but no where near Revlon Colorstay dry) so it would be good for anyone thats normal to oily. I don't wear it outside because while I can find a super pale shade its still a little ashy on me since I have warm skin tones. ITC its undetectable from my expensive stuff.
More expensive brands I like are Laura Mercier or Cover FX. If you just have some scaring and sensitive skin (which I totally have) I might try Laura's oil-free tinted moisturizer (it covers way better than you'd expect) and then use their Secret Camoflage concealer on your scars (it totally stays put and covers like mad). You can set it with their translucent setting powder, which is my all time favorite powder. The tinted moisturizer by itself is more dewy that matte but it looks so effing natural that I love it. Its one of very few brands (even of the non-comedogenic crap) that doesn't make my skin break out. Once I set it with the powder its an nice matte though.
I just tried Cover FX's cream foundation tonight after having a few MUA friends swear by it. I've had it on for about 5 hours and I'm really liking it so far. I'm actually not the lightest shade in a brand for once lol.

^^^I also recommend Laura Mercier Secret Camoflage concealer - it's the best. For foundation I use Estee Lauder Double Wear. It stays on, covers everything, is oil-free, and has a nice matte finish. For powder I use MAC Blot. I love these products!!!!
I love Bare Minerals Foundation
MAC sucks for foundation.
Brands I recommend:
MUFE
Laura Mercier
Giorgio Armani
Stila
Lorac

What about mineral makeup? I have MAC..its cool, but not the best.
Some Douchebag: "[Pimp C] 12:43 am: its true we got to stick together the black people on SW CK you is teh condoleeza of SW"
I like Lancome's Matte powder.
Bare Minerals is wonderful. I break out easy when I were cakey makeup and I think this stuff is wonderful and it really covers my stuff up. I just put concealer on my undereye circles and then ther bare minerals on everything else. It covers pimples up great an gives you a really natural look. Natural meaning you look like you don't have alot of makeup on even if you do and it covers great!

I like MakeUpFor Ever...great coverage albeit a bit expensive. And I second the Laura Mercier suggestions.

I started using their natural foundation a few months ago and it's the best I've ever tried. They have a great range of colours for WOC and the foundation really stays put for hours. I used their cream foundation to cover my tattoo and it was better than dermablend. I love this line!!!
Clinique Clarifying makeup. Its very thick- almost like a cream so you have to blend it well and sometimes I mix colors. Especially if my skin tone changes from tanning. It also has salicyclic acid in it to fight acne.
But its expensive, just so you know... at least more than I would usually spend on a foundation for such a small amount if it didn't work so well.
Can you get this Laura Mercier Foundation and concealer @ Sephora? Or where do I get it? b/c I don't completely like the concealer that I use on my under eye circles right now. I love my bare minerals foundation but I don't use it on my under eye circle alone b/c they don't completely cover them.

I like Chanel. I am like an old lady, very sensitive very dry skin lol. I forget what mine is called but it is the mosturizing blend and it comes in a tall rectangular shaped bottle.

Thanks so much ladies! I'm getting a few of the recommandations, I don't even care how much it's going to cost anymore.

Most Sephora's carry Laura but not all. I know quite a few Nordstrom's carry it otherwise.
Laura has two types of concealers though so if you are getting it for under your eye be careful. Secret Camouflage is a less emollient version that is best for scars around your face, it holds like a mofo though. Secret Concealer more creamy in texture and better for your around the eye area. I think they make another compact that contains both formulas as well.

I love my MAC studio fix foundation, concealer, and powder. Maybe because it's the first "pricier" foundation/powder I've tried, but it works for me. Why do you gals not like it?
MAC foundations in general look "cakey" and a bit orange to me. I think if you put 2 girls next to each other, one wearing MAC, one not, I could pick which one is wearing the MAC.
Studio Fix - I just have major beef with this product. It does look pretty damn good when applied and I can see why you like it. It's their best foundation by far. But a few days of wearing it breaks me out horribly and this is true for lots of other people, too. So frustrating! But if you are happy with it and it works for you, great!
Also, I like to avoid foundations with added SPF in them. I don't wear a lot of makeup during the day, usually only at night if I'm going out. The SPF reflects flash from cameras, making your face look paler in pictures. I just like to avoid it all together so I don't have that problem when I go out.
Good advice with the SPF, I did not know that. Thanks
