I still am shaking over the "I make them work for it" comment. Make them sing/dance/get naked because you worked hard for those dollars? Jesus.
There' something nauseating about making a person who is starving, possibly ill, give up the only thing they have left (dignity) to entertain you for a dollar or two to get some food.
I've always been very lucky. I know that if something terrible happened, and I had no place to live and couldn't work, I have friends and family who would help me. I wouldn't starve, I wouldn't sleep on the street. But I KNOW how unbelievably lucky I am, and it makes me want to help. I have never known what it's like to seriously go hungry; and because of that, I try to make sure that no one else does either, if I can help it.

. They always shared joints and cigarettes and food with him. He sometimes carried a sign that said "will have sex for sandwhichs." He was truly an amazing person from what I've heard....homeless was just part of his lifestyle.
