    Default "inbetween jobs"

so i know many of you on here have danced for a while, taken time off, returned to dancing so on and so forth.

to make an already long story short, due to many problems with area clubs, the only place left in this city for me to work at is somewhere i have already worked at, where the money isn't horrible if you follow the rules, but i quit because it was ridden with extras girls and it's a big shithole and basically if you say you work there you're looked down upon in stripper heirarchy.... there still are some clean girls there but safe to say, in the minority. reallll high contact. ughk.

and one other extremely upscale club id have to majorly alter my appearance (wig, tattoo cover up, etc), but i am willing to do that, just haven't gotten around to trying it yet.... mainly out of fear....

and left with these options i am reallly realllllly wanting to take a break until i can afford to move, which i've been wanting to for sometime. however, bills still exist. if worse comes to worse and i get desperate i know i'll have to go back to that old place, and suck it up until i can financially get where i need to be.

so, what other jobs have you guys held to support yourself in between stints of dancing? just looking for suggestions, ideas, etc etc....

Topless/Nude Waitressing also similiar is Skimpy Work.

I try to find an 'adult' alternative to something I already did prior to stripping which was working in hospitality. Thus I try to do Skimpy work or Topless/Nude Waitressing.

Or even apply as a waitress at a strip club which can be lucrative for some waitresses.

Are you talking about Hustler? Tonight a dancer got caught fucking in the bed dances, she got sent home, but not fired. Apparently she has been sent home in the past. Don't you miss it?

As for jobs try waitressing or bartending.

I usually get retail jobs as a good break from dancing as the paychecks are nice and the normalcy is fitting...It gets your head back in reality for awhile without huge amounts of stress.

When I took nine months off, I went to a temp agency on my job search. You usually have your pick of jobs that way, from $8 an hour answering phones to $12-15 an hour filing papers, $12 an hour doing banquet serving, including polishing silverware (easy!!).

I ended up working for a life insurance company, and was sharing an office with one other person, and didn't have anyone hovering over me. It was nice. For $12 an hour starting pay. Right after I left and moved, they bought all the temps out, put them on the insurance company's payroll and paid them $18 an hour. Sweet deal. Happens quite often with temp work. It's a great way to break into a relatively well-paying job with little or no training.

    Pros of temp work:
    1. You get a choice of jobs from what is available at the agency.
    2. You work for the temp agency, not the actual company, so if you don't feel comfortable, you tell the temp agency, and they'll reassign you without it reflecting poorly on your character.
    3. On-the-job training. They know you're a temp. They don't expect you to know everything when you walk in, and will train you their way.
    4. Often companies that hire temps will want to hire you on full-time instead of temporary status once you're trained and you've proven yourself. This often comes with a significant pay raise for the following reason: Let's say the company was paying $18/hr to the temp agency for you. You were getting $12/hr out of that on your paycheck. Well, the company was already paying $18/hr for you, and will most likely continue to pay the same--only thing YOU get all of it because you would be on the company's payroll and not the temp agency's.
    5. You can apply at more than one temp agency if you don't like the jobs available somewhere at the time. Where I used to live, there were 40, yes 40 agencies in a two-county area.
    6. New jobs come in all the time. Sometimes 1-2 day jobs that pay VERY well that are quite cushy.
    7. Temp jobs are sometimes great 2nd or 3rd jobs if your regular job isn't cutting it. Through college, I did banquet serving at $12 an hour as a 3rd job. If I was too busy to take a shift, I just told the agency I couldn't make it, and they'd just call the next person on their list. No hard feelings.

Something to look into, instead of approaching your job search in an industry-specific way.

yeah ummm i made $3. thats why i walked out. it was a thursday after a ballgame, so it was packed. went on stage 3 times, and did dollar dances.

during the dollar dance, only ONE dude out of like 20 said yes!!!

and only ONE person came to my stage out of the 3 times i was up, btween 8-12:30.

the same night some girl left, too, because she refused to fuck this dude in the VIP after about 15 20 minutes or so, so the guy got pissed and DT actaully gave the dude his money back!!!!!!! she didnt get a dime!!!!

and i was like, wow, what the fuck am i doing here.

i went to hollywood for a few days and made bank (compared to hustler!!) but me and bob had some issues... ha.

i can't believe youre still putting up with that crap!
