    Default Mastopexy

I know there have been a few threads on this before, and I've read most of them.

Still, I thought there might be some new info out there....

Breast lifts seem such a dicey procedure...I've seen so many before-and-after pictures on surgeon's websites where the final results just look freakish.

The primary reason that I never got a BA when I was dancing is that I knew I really needed a lift, and I didn't want the scars, or the weird misshapen look that sometimes results. I also didn't want to go extremely large, which I’d have to do to fill up the natural pocket enough to avoid a lift.

I have a good amount of natural tissue: I'm a 36C now, and a very deflated 36B when I'm at my ideal weight (about 10-15 lbs thinner than I am now.) I'd like to say I have moderate ptosis, but it's probably worse than that: I'm pretty sure I'd need an anchor lift.

Though I think full D and DD cups look lovely on many women, I don't think I'd be comfy going any bigger than a full C. If I could have the breasts of my dreams, I'd choose perky little B's with jaunty pencil-eraser nipples and small pink areolae (think gingerlee! Those bad boys are perfect). Sadly, my natural boobs are about as far from this as you could get.

Then again...I'm 5'2 and currently 135: my body is thick, my ribcage is wide, and my ass has its own zipcode. Which is to say, the boobs of my dreams probably wouldn’t even look right on my frame. So, I’m wondering and if a larger size (say, a full C/small D) would balance my body perfectly or, on the contrary, would make me look kinda fat.

Though I've never been thrilled with the idea of having a foreign object in my body (another reason I was never gung-ho about getting a BA, even though it would've done me a world of good when I was dancing), I'm assuming that I will need at least a small shaper implant, because it seems to me that lifts without implants tend to look freakish, while lifts with implants often look quite nice.

I haven't gone for any consultations on this yet, because I'm a bit overwhelmed by the task of choosing a surgeon. But here are my questions:

    1) Anyone have experience with mastopexy? What procedure did you get, and were you happy with the result? (Emily, I know you have posted about this extensively in the past, and I really learned a lot from your contributions to older threads on this topic, so thank you! And your boobs look fabulous, by the way...If I could get a result like yours I'd be ecstatic.)

    2) Has anyone had a lift without implants and had a great result? (I'd love it if I could do this, but I doubt it would be possible for me.)

    3) For those in the know....If you get an anchor lift with a small shaper implant, and you have a fair amount of natural breast tissue, is it better to place the implant over or under the muscle? Or does it depend on the specifics of each individual case?

    4) What's the best place to start looking for surgeons in a given area? Anyone know any great websites for this? I've checked out locateadoc.com (or something like that), but it doesn't seem very thorough. How do you find THE guy in your area who specializes in a given procedure? I'm not in the biz anymore, so I can't be feeling up girls in the dressing room and asking for their doctors' names the way I used to...

(I know I should post pics, but I am just too unhappy with my boobies to be bandying them about on the internet--Sorry!)

Any comments or advice will be greatly appreciated. I would, of course, be especially interested to know of any surgeons you'd recommend in the California/Arizona area...I would also consider surgeons in the New York/New England and possibly the D.C. area.

Sorry for the ridiculously long post.

    ....Thoughts?

    Thanks!!!

    Default Re: Mastopexy

i had a breast lift and implant about 6 months ago. i had so many doctors tell me not to do it (cuz my age...21) but they were really saggy. my nipples pretty much pointed down and they were not attractive. my sisters are the same way so i think it had to do with genetics. anyways, i went to a doctor in newport beach(im in LA) who specializes in reconstructive surgery, which is exaactly what this is. now that its been 6 months or so this is my conclusion....

i was a small c/large b before, and put in 570 cc saline under the muscle

my boobs dont scream fake because what i had to work with was a little different than most girls with perky natural breasts. mine started very low and there is no way for them to be ultra high as that is just not my body. when they were first done they looked kind of flat because they were so high, so it looks better now that they have fallen, because they are full and round, not long and flat.

my surgeon did not give me the anchor scar. what he did was remove skin from around the nipple (which was taken off completely), gathered it up, and sewed the nipple back on. it still has obvious scarring, and they are not perfectly symmetrical. i think one sretched quite a bit so they dont really match. another thing is that the nipple is now very strange feeling...like when it is touched it kind of feels squishy, and sometimes have a problem getting hard. it is a long and difficult process but in the end i am happy because what i had before was awful (i hated taking my top off even in the club). im thinking of getting the nipples fixed in a little while but overall they look so much better than what they did....i say go for it
