Default Alright, I'm gonna do it - The 5 Day Work Week

I asked and they obliged. I am now officially scheduled for Monday-Friday starting next week. Since I'm scheduled, I can't flake out and say I don't want to go in.

It's not really a hard hustle at my club but the stage requires work and a lot of our money comes from the stage. I'm looking for suggestions for not getting burned out and how to keep my energy up towards the end of the week. Any other little nuggets of advice would be awesome as well.

I envy you, I want so badly to work 5 nights a week and make some hella money. But when I convinced my bf that me stripping was a good idea, a big factor was that i would only have to work 3, maybe 4 days.
Good luck to you. All I can think of is bring snacks and maybe a book or something, that way if youre feeling burned out you can take a break in the dressing room for a few and just chill. Stay hydrated, eat balanced meals, just be as kind to your body as you can.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I know my biggest problem when I work more than I'm used to are my feet. They blister and my toes bleed. I have to make sure I switch my shoes several times to even out the pressure points. I just have bony, strange feet and they get beaten up by those shoes.

Otherwise, the energy thing is just a matter of will...for me anyway. If I get enough sleep and promise myself some yummy food when I get home, I can keep at it.

It was a chore to drag my ass in for my 4th night yesterday. And I wish I'd read mollyz advice earlier, my feet are fcked up.

Drink lots of water and bring snacks too. I've left work so many times feeling exhausted, and realized afterwards that it was mainly hunger and thirst.

Good luck and make lots of money!

Just drink lots of water and get an adequate night's sleep when you get home. If you have thought about taking vitamins, now is the time to do it. Your immune system might get a bit strained. It's not like you're training to be a gladiator or anything, but you really don't want to have those extra couple of days to make more money, and then get sick and have to take a week off.

Also... Monday thru Fri? Five days straight? Is there any way you can go three days, one day off, then two days? In my experience, when I did five days in a row my fifth day I always made under 100 bucks. It was horrible. By the fifth night, my spirit was willing, but my body and mind were done. The three then two schedule worked awesome for me over this summer when I had to pull more days to make the cash. My body adjusted fine, and I felt rewarded on each of my days off. Might be something to try.

    Good luck.

rest a LOT! sleep in, do what you have to do, then take another nap before work. if you have time, of course.

this week i worked mon, tues, thurs, fri, and im working tonight. next week im going tues-sat. i definately prefer to have a night off in between like i did this week, but i think it kinda takes me off my working kick. like i lose momentum, haha. so i do think its good that youre doing the 5 in a row.

if all else fails, stock up on sugar free red bull. and make sure youre working out along with work, too. i usually cant stand yoga, but i did it the other day and it felt good. working out has felt better than normal this week because its stretching my muscles and keeping my energy up.

oh, and good luck! make sure to let us know how it goes and what works for you

I do it..and yes it's hard. I second what others said about eating and water. Every shift I take a 20 min break where I let everything (but a big VIP) go. I sit down and have a healthful lunch, big bottle of water, and relax. Without that I get far too drained. If at all possible avoid alcohol..the days I get champagne are very profitable, but make it that much harder to get my butt to work the next day. Working out is very important too! I have far more energy and my body aches much less when I make it to the gym..don't neglect your stretches. Good luck and take care!

I've been doing this lately - two weeks last month, and three weeks this month (I still have another week to go). It helps to know it's a sprint, that I don't have to keep this up long term. Drink as much water as you can get down. Eat loads of fresh vegetables and avoid fats. Stock up on arnica and make sure you rub it into your knees and calves before and after your shift, whether you think you need it or not. Stretch whenever you get the opportunity.

My feet don't bother me, but my knees start to buckle by the end of the week. I have to rest my knees whenever I get a chance, and whenever I'm not at work I make sure to go barefoot as much as possible or wear flat, soft, comfortable shoes.

And yeah, you won't want to work out but it really helps. I've been doing an hour of cardio and about 15 minutes of weights in the afternoons before work, and it gets me energized. I think it's also helping to strengthen my knees because I'm not wearing out as much.

Good for you. I just cant do this anymore unless I'm out of town. 2-3 days at the club is about all my mental health can take...any more and I'd be on the rooftop with an Uzi...

^^^ That's how I get in L.A. I can do Tuesday through Saturday here in Montana, but no more than two days in a row in L.A. Whenever I try to do three days in a row, my third day is always a waste; I don't make any money and I'm a snarling, slapping harpy.

Wow. I just realised that I also did a 5 day work week as well this week!

    Mon-Thur and Sat.

It is due to the environment I am working within where the customer is allowed to touch you as well as the fact that the club is new and there isn't a good consistent amount of 'easy' money just yet that I can't keep up such a work week every week.

What helped me thru is giving myself a half hour break each night. I would also make sure I had a good healthy filling meal prior to work ... have a protein rich meal during my half hour break... as well have a book I liked to read (yet could still easily shut after my break) or bring along my CD player (with headphones naturally) and listen to CDs I wanted to listen to (music, motivational, audio books, etc).

This is what helped me keep my sanity.

Granted, I won't be doing that again in a hurry. I prefer being rostered for three shifts and having the option of working more if I feel motivated enough to do so.

I also agree with everyone who said it is good to do three then two for a 5 day work week as your body and mind will thank you for that days rest. It won't interrupt your mojo as you will mostly being relaxing and making sure you keep it as such instead of burning out (and breaking your body).

I just started going in at 7pm , instead of 10 pm recently. After four days in a row of 7 hours, I feel like i am gonna DIE! SOOOO tired,so I will then take 2 off and work the last day. I used to work 12-16 hours a week tops, now 35, it is soooo stressful.

I'm gonna have to get on this work plan also very soon. I used to do 7 days a week, but the club was rather slow on stage and on the floor. Lots of sitting around and talking, 7-3 shift. But that was a loooong time ago.

I believe it is time for me to get some vitamins.

I would work 3 shifts and then 2 shifts but I don't want to work Saturday and the club is closed on Sunday. I'm just chilling today and getting some laundry done so I don't have to worry about it all week.

I really do like my club and the money is pretty easy so I think I'll be ok. I need snack suggestions though. What can I bring with me that'll give me little energy boosts thru the shift?

I'm a big fan of almonds and oatmeal bars. They fill me up, and you only need a little bit of each at a time for energy. They balance the sugar levels and aren't too hard to digest (this is good for when you're moving around). Best of luck! I'm doing a marathon week myself.

Fruit and cheese make a good snack, but I also love whole-grain oatmeal bars.

^^My only issue with fruit is that it's hard to store in a locker, and it gets stuck in my teeth, which is a hassle at work.

Ah, I'm one of those people who ALWAYS has dental floss. And I've never had a problem sticking an apple in my purse or my stripper bag.

Lol I always have dental floss also- can't stand things in my teeth. I want to bring fruits but I guess to keep them cold I'll have to bring a cooler! I just hate having too many things.

Luscious, granola bars are a great idea. They hurt my teeth though, I don't eat them.

Thanks for the ideas. I hnk granola bars and some of those ham and cheese and crackers lunchables will do nicely.

I'm going into this with no specific goal. I just want to have all my outstanding bills paid and have some money in the bank. The freedom of not worrying about money will be my reward and motivation.

But I think my second reward can be clothes. I need stripper stuff as well as real life clothes so after my bills are paid and I have money in savings, I'm going to buy myself some outfits.

Trail mix is good for breaks. You get some sugar from the M n' M's and protein from the nuts, as well as salt which you will loose when you sweat at work. Your fruit won't rot if you don't have it in a cooler--not in 7-8 hours especially.

I just wanted to give a little update.
Well I went in yesterday and did well. I made sure I paced myself and since it was a slow night I got to sit down a lot. I made double my goal which wasn't all that high but to double it is awesome. Plus I didn't do one lapdance.

I also have a guy that absolutely fell in love with me and is coming back to see me. He tipped me very well on stage, tipped me while I was sitting with him and bought me drinks. I hope he works out as a regular.

I think I can keep this up because my club doesn't have a lot of customers Monday-Thursday so I'm not running around hustling all night and tiring myself out.
I'm pumped up for work tonight and I'm probably going to do a double on Friday.

Good for you! Well done. What I like about the extra shifts is similar...you get a chance to meet the special guys who come in again and again. I agree that early week shifts are more relaxing too. Keep up the good work and you'll be rolling in money! I love all these inspirational threads.
