    Default flat irons

ok... my old one is wearing out. a spring in it is broken and i lost the warrenty.

    what are your faves?

my hair is thinish and curly naturally. i need something that will flatten tough curls without ruining my already thin hair.

also, i know i need to pay a decent ammount for a good one, but i'd LIKE to stay in the 100-150 dollar range. you could PROBABLY convince me to 200 if it was super-super-ridiculously amazing... but i'd rather not.

I have a GHD... $300 Australian, though. Love it. Love it tons. My hair is fabulous and I use it almost every day and my hair is still shiny and smooth.

I've got pretty thin hair that's very curly, and the best straightener I've ever used is a CHI. It straightens even my curliest curls, and I don't have to go over my hair several times to get that. I'm not sure exactly how much it costs (depends where you get it), but I know that it's definitely under $200 Canadian. I want to say somewhere around $150.

I love my pink chi iron and it gets my kinky afro hair the straightest of any non-salon iron!

Then what the hell am I doing wrong? I've tried everything and always end up with hair that begins to wave after awhile I don't think it gets hot enough.

The Paul Mitchell flat iron is getting a lot of raves amongst hair stylists. It runs around 100 retail I believe. Here it is on e-bay for less. http://cgi.ebay.com/Paul-Mitchell-TH...QQcmdZViewItem

The one and only straightening iron to conquer my hair has been the Sedu. It's tourmaline coated so it doesn't snag and leaves your hair nice and shiny. I think I spent about $140 on it? The downsides are that it gets hot to handle sometimes and that it's pretty fragile. (I dropped mine on carpeted floor and it broke...but theres a 6 mo warranty and my new iron is holding up just fine).

Lots of before and after pictures and reviews:

Bespoke Labs is supposed to be a really good brand.

Looks like their medium size one is retailing for $200. I got their narrow duality to create "just left the beach" curls. I hadn't realized a flat iron could be used to create curls, but there you go.

I have the t3 wet to dry touramine (spelling?) it's awesome, Emily has(had?) one, and I think she might say the same thing. I love it, I think it does less damadge to your hair then regular irons.

Chi irons are notorious for breaking down. I have a friend who was a receptionist for the company and can attest that they break down often. Sedu is great. Go to folica.com.

I hated the ghd, hated the t3 and tolerated my chi nano until it broke after 4 months.

I bought the sedu and fuck, it is awesome! It straightens my hair in half the time too.

I have a CHI and it's good... but I'm not positive it was really worth the cost. I have one I got at Target for $50 (Conair, I think) and it works ALMOST as well. I just went in and picked the most expensive (generic) one so I could have something to bring to work.
