    Default Regular's personal tragedy

my regular's family member is in the final stages of cancer and will probably die within months. he comes to see me about once a week and always spends very well. we don't talk much, we do a little but he likes to do dances and not sit and drink or anything. i don't really know how to deal with the subject, i almost want to get him something, but i don't know what. does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing?

2 be honest i think the best thing you can do for him is just be a good listner and maybe a nice hug. I would not do much more nore is it nessacary.

I agree. I've had a few regs like this and honestly...STUFF they can get from anyone...but sometimes a sympathetic ear is hard to find.
If it comes to the end...a sympathy card may be apprecated..but your listening and/or distraction from his problems for awhile is likely worth more to him

Yes, just be a sympathetic ear or a pleasant distraction. Dealing with cancer & imminent death is incredibly draining and painful for loved ones. And there are some things he might not feel able to share with family & friends, but things he needs to "get off his chest" to someone.

It's very kind of you to think of this. Most people would not think of reaching out.
