I believe Ive done it quite a few times - usually in that stage between being awake and asleep, I dont know how, it just happens. Although when it happens I am aware of being aware of how easy it really is!
I bought books a few years ago in order to try and learn how to do it when ever I felt like it but all I ever achieved was managing to bob in and out of my body for ages, lol. I should have stuck with it and i might have got there eventually. I forget exactly which method/s I tried now. - They were along the lines of self-hypnosis / meditation though not some of the physically extreme methods, lol.

not that I'm aware of but I do fly in my dreams quite often...you know, like superman? It's very exciting and thrilling and just downright cool.

I can control my flight by this "force" in my stomach (weird, huh?) although there is a recurrent theme of my fear of flying too high. Once I start to rise too high I have to will myself down to an acceptable level which is probably ~500 feet...Any higher than that and I'm frightened I'll never make it back to Earth.

Does anybody else have flying dreams? Please don't let me be the only one lol

^^^Yes, sometimes LSM. Possibly you are experiencing astral projection, have you ever read about it? The whole "stomach control" thing seems relevant IMO. Alot of people experience a "silver chord" in that area which is connected to the physical body.
I am envious - I rarely fly high and would like to. I just seem to float around reasonably close to the ground.

I've read about it but I never connected my dreams to it because I never feel myself leave my body. I'm just doing my thing in my dreams and all of a sudden there is some reason for me to fly whether I'm traveling or escaping. I've had these dreams for as long as I can remember...ever since a young child.

^^yes that pull you feel in your stomach is from astral projection...lucky you!!

I've been able to do it everynow and then but not so much as i've gotten older. When I was a pre-teen I too would have flying dreams quite often and i'd feel a tug in my stomach.

Does anyone have any sites they can list that describe how to do it? I've only done this once or so and it was so freeing.

I'm fairly sure my body is trying to let me do it, but it scares the hell out of me. I lay there half asleep and half awake (can't move), and it honestly feels like a part of me is trying to pull away. This is accompanied by an incredible buzzing sound.
It also only seems to happen when I'm forcing a nap that I know I'll need for later.

I don't know of any sites for instructions on how to do it. However I can give you some pointers. I have read every book I have ever found on the subject. It's been a fascination and an Obsession of mine for years. The first step is to make yourself unafraid. Nothing bad will ever happen to you in your travels. You are the one in control no one else. It's your subconscious that rules you during an astral projection session. You have to clear your mind of everything! It's the hardest thing to do but that is what you have to do. You can't think about work, friends, life. nothing. The only thing you can think about is allowing yourself the freedom to escape the material bonds of your body and release your soul for just a bit. Now here's where the fear kicks in. You must convince your conscious self that it is ok to let you subconscious take you on a little trip. You conscious will argue that it has to be in control because that is what we have been taught our whole lives. The only time your subconscious get the control is when you are sleeping which is why you dream. Your dreams are usually the effects of something you want or fear. What ever you are afraid of your subconscious will manifest it into an acceptable formation for you. For example if you were afraid of oh lets say your father when you were a child then you could dream about a large ferocious animal lika a bull chasing you around your house or your favorite place. If its something you want depending on how important it is to you is how your subconscious will interpret it. Like If you want a new house you might dream you won the lottery. Any way in order to astral project you have to lean to let yourself leave the material world. There's nothing to be afraid of your subconscious knows where you belong and it will return you. It doesn't want you hanging around keeping it in control 24 ,7 your subconscious needs to rest too. It can only rest if you are awake and alert for your conscious mind to take back the control and rule the show. Oh 1 more thing you have to believe you can astral project. I mean really Believe it. Your subconscious will know if your lying to yourself. It always does.Visually see yourself doing it in your mind, smell the air, feel the breeze as it blows across your face pushing your hair back away from your face. If it rains feel the raindrops gently fall onto your skin. Feel the temperature of the rain, the air. Does it feel warm. Take notice of all these things. Feel them and believe you are feeling them. Clear your mind of fear and doubt let the material world go for just a spell and truly believe in yourself that you can do it and you will. I have A.P.'d a few times when the conditions were met and I loved it.I have a hard time clearing my mind long enough to do it. With work, 3 kids and my husband I can't stop thinking of everything there is for me to do. My responsibilities never seem to end I never seem to get caught up to take a badly needed break. My God I just looked at this post :yikes: it's a novel! Sorry bout that. This is a one of my absolute favorite subjects and I am tickled to share my knowledge with you. If you want to know more let me know. I'm practically an encyclopedia on the subject. lol :) :) ;D:graduate: :goodvibes :) :)

Now I know there's a difference between astral projection and seeing with your third eye, but I'm not sure which is going on with me...

For example this is what happens to me everynow and then when I meditate:

I will be able to see without having my eyes open. Literally, it's not "picturing" my room or wherever in my mind, I can actually clearly SEE and move around in the room...this is always accomplished from meditation and I don't realize at first that my eyes are closed, I don't feel "awake" but i'm definately not asleep as I'm fully conscious that i'm meditating. But as I said it isn't until I think about it that I realize, "whoa hey my eyes were closed!!". It's so clear that I really don't realize my eyes were shut.

So what is this? Is this astral projection or seeing with the third eye? Am I just astral projecting myself in my room outside of my body?

^^^I can do that too sometimes - its wierd, Im not sure how it happens with me but its neat! Ive always assumed its my third eye because Im so much more concious than I have been with my projection experiences.
Must read up more on that really.

I'm a old fashioned myself. Maybe steal the soul of a newborn baby--on a moonless night--a couple times a year. Nothing fancy. Astral projection is for the young jet set. Kids!

Hey Girls! when you are meditating what you are doing is seeing with your Third eye. During Astral Projection, your soul is actually escaping the material bonds and leaving your physical body for just a bit. Meditation is the method used to teach people how to open their Third Eye. Seeing with your Third Eye is the ability to use more of your brain then the usual. It allows you to see things threw the portal in your mind which is your Third Eye. Seeing threw the Third Eye is a larger non bias view of your surroundings that you are in complete control of. You control what you, your conscious mind see. You are able to see clearer with no obstructions or opinions. like when you were first born, No one has pushed their beliefs or perceptions on you yet so you see things as they really are. That is why you're able to see more in detail you are super aware so you see every small detail that normally you would miss. That is also why seeing the world threw your Third Eye is so riveting and wondrous and why you feel so energized after a session. Your knowledge has been given a boost and broadened so you feel more empowered. It's a very powerful experience you should consider yourself gifted if you are able to see with your Third Eye, some people try for years to open the portal and never succeed.

Now Astral Projection lets your soul take a mini vacation from the material world and allows your conscious mind to drop the controls and kick back and see the sights your subconscious shows you.Your subconscious is in complete control of where you go and what you see. Your inner most desires are usually the first place you will go, sometimes it wll take you to your inner most fears. in which case it can be kinda scary but anything you can't handle your subconscious will immediately let your conscious take over, bring you back and wake you up. There is no way for anything negative to happen to you ever during an astral experience you are always safe. It's even more difficult to achieve astral projection but if you really want it you'll get it. Most people who try get scared at the moment your soul leaves your body and turns and sees your physical body laying there it forces your soul to return to your body. It's an un-natural sight to see your own body laying there But only because of what we are taught from the material world. The Indians were so in touch with the spirit realm, astral projection was a normal everyday thing for them. Material things had no real value to them until they met the white man. So if you can achieve everything I talked about in my first post on astral projection, you will be able to astral project. Good Luck!
