    Default Owww sensitive teeth

My gumlines in some of my molars have receded due to harsh brushing, leaving me with painfully sensitive teeth. I just bought some Sensodyne, and I'm going to buy some of that Oragel desensitizing treatment tomorrow. I'm looking at treatments that I can get at the dentist. Does anyone else have this problem?

When your gumline recedes, it makes you more susceptible to cavities.....could it be that? That happened to me, and once I got the cavitites filled, the sensitivity to hot and cold was MUCH better.

I have this problem. You need to get a dentist to cover the exposed areas with a thin filling.

Then get soft toothbrushes and lay off the muscle for brushing time...

Make sure you get a soft bristle toothbrush. A lot of people think they need medium bristles but my dentist informed me otherwise. Flossing helps too, sometimes the gums get irritated with all the plague and food that gets stuck between them. I personally prefer Crest toothpaste, cool mint. It's not very harsh or abrasive at all. Stay away from anything that claims to whiten your teeth, these pastes tend to be more abrasive.

I have super sensitive teeth and fire shows have made it worse. Because I hold the fire wands in my mouth it kind of burns at the enamel on my teeth. Like when I breath(im a mouth breather) the air is so painful on my teeth and gums.

Anyway my dentist told me to use sensodyne when I brush and days my teeth are more sensitive to rub the sensodyne on my teeth with my fingers and leave it there for about 5 - 10min and it will help decrease sensitivity.

There is a treatment at the dentist you can get as well(he put some weird pasty stuff on my teeth it was a horrible mess but it worked) and the follow up was the leaving the sensodyne on my teeth when im super sensitive.

Also stop using a hard toothbrush... like green my dentist said to use a softer toothbrush and floss and use mouth wash. Though now I use the crest spinbrush pro... makes a huge difference for me.
