    Default Michael Vick news

For those who are following the story

-- NFL star Michael Vick will plead guilty to federal conspiracy charges involving illegal dogfighting, one of his attorneys confirms to CNN.

WOO HOO!!! I hope they dont let him off with a bullshit plea in exchange for pleading guilty....it would be such crap if he didnt get jail time for this.

Absolutely. Deserves at least 2-4 yrs but will probably get 1 year and only be in about 8 months. He'll never play for the NFL again though, at least I would think not.
Man oh man, what a trip it's been.

"The offense is punishable by up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine, although federal sentencing guidelines most likely would call for less. Vick's plea hearing is Aug. 27."

Considering his court date is my birthday..I'm asking fate for his punishment at the full 5 years and $250,000 fine as my birthday present!

His endosement deals have all(I believe 100% have now that Nke did) dropped him. The NFL has suspended him WITH pay pending their own investigation. With his pleading guilty though,I can only hope they will take the final step and fire him.

    1st off Happy (early) birthday.....

2nd, rumors are saying perhaps 18 months, though it is entirely up to the judge.

i think they are going to try and set an example out of Vick. Though I'm sure allot of his $$$ is gone, will be gone due to ocurt costs,, lawyers, etc.

He'll come out and if he's a broke man without a future I would be happy

One of the news stations aid that he's going to get a reduced sentence, because he's going to give up the names of 2 other players who were involved. If he does, he'll serve less than a year.

I just think it's funny he's pleading guilty after he went on and on a few weeks ago about how he couldn't wait for court in order to clear his good name.

I don't think it should be any surprise that there are other athletes that do this....

3 of the 4 sports are reeling

    NHL - Michael Vick/Dogfighting
NBA - the Gambling Referee with mob connections
    MLB - Steriods....

That just leaves hockey, which allot of people in the us don't care about

I think he needs to be put in a psych ward. He didn't torture these dogs for the money, as his career is worth far more than that. He enjoys it, and that is the definition of sick and evil IMO.

    What a fuckup.

I saw on Fox news earlier that he had told the NFL bigwigs that he was 100% innocent. Now that he's pleading guilty, he shouldn't have a job with the NFL when he gets out of prison, right?

That man disgusts me. I was listening to the radio this morning and they were playing an old interview by him and he said the top 3 things he loved. Number one was animals, don't remember number 2 and number 3 was his mother.

Makes me so angry to know that he was probably torturing and killing all of those innocent dogs when he gave that interview.
There's a wild side behind every innocent face.

One nice thing is, when the feds get done with him, the state still has their shot...and it seems like they are going to hit him with state charges as well.

    ^^^

State can't do anything, its basically the state proscecutor trying to save face. Any time in prison under the federal sentence will also be time served under a state sentence.

I think the state can go after him. I wanna say that I've heard this here in Virginia, I'll check with a lawyer client to be sure.

I did hear this today about his sentencing.....it should be handed down in dog years!

****Just heard from my lawyer buddy. The state can go after him after the Federal charges are done.

he's going to get jailtime, no doubt. there are lots of other charges other than just dogfighting. i think racketeering charges are worse?

He ranked his mother #3 and 2 spots behind animals?
