I just bought the compression belt to wear during cardio. They are suppose to make you slimmer by making you retain heat in that area thus making you sweat more burning more calories in that area. Not a miracle thing just something to help along with diet and exercise. My cousin recommenced it to me and had one a fitness competition not too long ago. Just wondering if anyone else uses them. If anyone uses the shorts give some info on how it works or doesn't work.

I have one, but I've never seen any OMGzor! kind of results with it or anything.

The belt is always really gross and sweaty when I take it off, but I don't think it made as much of a difference as the changes in my workout plan that I made. Between the belt and working out a little harder I lost 3 inches from my waist, but I guess it would be up for you to decide if it was the belt or difference in my workout that really did it.

It's just making you lose more water weight in that area and compressing things a bit. You do get some (fairly subtle) results, but they go away pretty quickly. It's like how after you've worn a corset for a while, your waist will look smaller for a while but then everything will eventually go back to normal.

If you like how it feels or are willing to give it a shot, it won't cause any harm. However, the results won't be that amazing.

Disclaimer: This is from the girl who loves wearing corsets and is getting a Squeem girdle for more comfy everyday wear. I like how corsets make me look, and while my waist is smaller when I take them off, it's back to normal by the next day (and usually within a couple hours). The only lasting benefit is that if you wear them long-term, it encourages you to eat more frequently and in much smaller portions, which helps some people with weight control.

So I gave this thing try today and tightened it as tight as I could stand it then went for a run. I soaked the belt and it was very very sweaty when I took it off. I weighed myself before and after and lost 1/2 pound of water weight. I feel skinner and don't have any bad side effects from it. Definitely worth my $10.

I will tell you that traditional asian woman wear belts after childbirth to help tighten things back up... or at least my hairdresser's family does.

Other than that, I don't know anything about 'em.

Total unmitigated BULLSHIT! Water loss is only temporary. Any mild compression caused will go back to normal. The one and only beneficial thing it MIGHT do is help promote proper posture = chest out; shoulders back and gut in. PERIOD !
