Default Customer talking about owning a club...LOL...

Yesterday at work, I'm sitting at the bar waiting for the day to get started. I'm sitting in between two customers...one was a regular of mine. Well, they start off in this conversation about how most dancers throw their money away and don't invest it...blah blah. Then my reg goes "If I owned a strip club, I would take a percentage of each girls money and invest it for them. They wouldn't be allowed to take the money out till they left the club".
I wanted to say something, but I didn't wanna embarrass him. But, first of all, girls come and go every day at strip clubs. I hear people talk about how they wanna own a club all the time, but it was funny to hear someone actually think it's possible to take a portion of each girls money and invest it for them. Funny. Ha.

Well, it wouldn't be a baaaad idea for the clubs to have a savings/investment plan available for the dancers to VOLUNATARILY utilize. And sad to say, the custy is right about most strippers throwing their money away. But its not his place to judge.....

Clubs in other countries do that! They pay you a base pay of $200 or so and if you make more than that, you keep $200+what you made.. however if you only mad $199.. you get $200. So it's always good to make $201.

Customers always think they know how to run a club better than the people running it. The truth is, they have no clue. No experience whatsoever, and no idea what really works and what doesn't... and its really NOT easy. I wouldn't do it for all the tea in China just because of the headaches.

Whatever. I just smile and nod.

Well it wuld be nice if owners who take door fees took the money, invested it and then gave it all back complete with profits as an end of year bonus. Sort of simular to when you buy a product which gives you X amount cash back from the company a month later...
    Its a nice idea.

Dude, if they did that I'd TOTALLY work 5 days a week and let them take a cut of my dances.

But if they did something like that, we would have to be considered employees right? So it would change everything about the way things operate in clubs. We would have to get hourly pay and everything.

I'm with LuckyOne. The patrons and customers that speak about what they would do if they owned a strip club have no clue what-so-ever. They think because they frequent a place often enough they know what it is like to run it.

It is like if I went to McDonalds everyday to eat... I still wouldn't have a clue what is involved in owning/running a franchise/store.

In the end, I smile and nod too whilst in my head wishing they STFU.

If they REALLY knew what running/owning a strip club was about they would run a million miles the other way and not invest one cent into one.

I know I would never want to own an agency nor a strip club.

I don't know, haven't we all had those thoughts of, "If I ran this place I'd............." It's natural for anyone who hangs out very long in a club to imagine what could be done to make it better for THEM. The custie wants it better for himself, the managers want it better for themselves, and naturally, we dancers want it better for us. The vast majority of us will never own or run a club, but we can dream about what it would be like if we did.

I agree with Katrine! I don't necessarily think it's a bad idea at all.... it's simply a question of who owns the club. Obviously, this guy isn't a candidate... but if Katrine owned a club- she'd have both dancer and customer experience, and I'd sure as hell let her invest my $$$$ for me!!!

Pooling dancer-dollars together could be a bigger buy-in with better stocks.... it's not a half-bad concept. Improbable and unrealistic, but if a trustworthy financial planner took hold of an SC, I'd be willing to try....

Lol. I love it when customers talk about how they want to open up, especially when they talk about building it from the ground up.

But to me honest, most strip club owners and managers are not the brightest of the bunch. I really don't think that many customers could do much worse than the dingbats who are already running some of these places.

Now if Katrine or Paris or Tina opened up a club, I'm in

Was it not tempting to say

" I already do something very similar. I take a percentage of your money and invest it"

Does he want to be a club owner or a pimp?

I worked at a club that would keep money for the girls in a safe if that is what they wanted to do...the only downside to that was when the club was raided they took the money in the safe.....Glad I never to the club up on that offer.

    .
    Oh yea I almost forgot!
He said he wants to be a "good" kind of pimp...the kind that takes the girls money and invests it for them and not even take a cut. That's when he started going into the owning a club thing.

I mean. The Lusty Lady in the bay area (where i really wanna work) has an hourly wage that maxes out within nine months, at something like $20 an hour. Though I hear that there are so many girls working there (50+) that consequently no body really works as many hours as they would like. But then again it is also a union worker-owned cooperative so nobody is actually an employee except for the probationary dancers who have not formally joined the cooperative yet. I have not worked in a club yet so I do not know everything about the economics of the process but things like hourly wages and such do not sound so bad to me.

It can be difficult to make a recently single man pay for sex when he knows that a quick trip to the local watering hole would secure at least one hard drunken tumble for far less cash. It is even more difficult when he is something of a dead ringer for James Bond as played by Daniel Craig and possesses the sort of awkard charm and confidence that brands a man like him as a lady killer.

^They don't sound bad to you because you haven't worked in the industry. If you haven't done it, you don't know. We don't want to be LIMITED by hourly pay

Alas, unless you are "connected", an SC isn't a very good investment. The costs of liquor licenses, sexually oriented business licenses, and legal costs (from the community haters) could really hurt the bottom line.

Then again, I would likely make up for it by charging exorbitant house-fees to the dancers and make them pay the rest of the staff wages out of their earnings. Oh wait, that's absolutely wrong and unethical. No one would stoop that low!

Working and 8 hour shifs and walking out with $160 every time doesnt grab me at all.
    In stripping terms thats peanuts.
Although many of us have had bad nights where we make less than that, usually the good nights more than make up for it.
