I don't know what any of these brands are. My favorite of probably ten that I've bought (including several ceramics) was called "Helen of Troy." That's all I can say to help...

I haven't tried the others, but I voted Chi, because once I tried it... I don't think anything could be any better than a Chi. Not to say that the others aren't up to par, but I couldn't imagine hair getting any straighter... LOL

Also, my hairdresser uses Chi products (styling products, too) and she swears by them for quality.

Chi irons are notorious for breaking down. I have a friend who was a receptionist with the company, and can attest to it.

I love my Sedu! I tried the Chi, which was okay, and I tried a few brands sold at Sally Beauty, which I wore the ceramic off within a few months.

Woohooo! I just bought a Helen of Troy today at Ulta. It was half price and came to $20 bucks.

If it sucks I can buy a fancy pants sedu or chi but I'll give the cheapo one a try first.

I own a CHI and I really love it. The other brand I have used is Bio Ionic (the Japanese straightening one) and it made my hair shine like glass.

Definatly CHI! its the Rolls Royce of flat irons, the best of the best.
they now have the CHI nano that is made with silver technology. which heats up hotter, makes your hair shinier, and kills 99.8% of bacteria on the flat iron. and it comes in a pretty baby blue color I LOVE IT! i could not live without my flat iron.

the CHI has a 5 year warranty! if for any reason it breaks, burns the cord, or just doesnt heat up like it used to, return it to where you bought it within a year and they will replace it or save the box and you can send it Farouk (sp.ck.) company, and they will send you a new one!

Damn I wish I had known this just a week ago! After cleaning out my junk cabinet, I tossed my chi box (which I have held onto for the past 8 months) not thinking I may need it. Oh well.

i think i'm leaning toward sedu, after reading reviews online. lots of girls have compared it to the chi and say it's better.

the chi is winning here though.... but no one has tried other brands. :/

I have the Chi - one note, some of them ( the Chi's) the more you use it ( squeezing it against a section of hair) the hotter it gets. Also I have VERY thick, VERY wavy hair. It's the only one that gets hot enough to make my type of hair straight. Plus, I've found that using the Chi with a smoothing serum is the only way to go.
    Biolage smoothing serum.

Tried the CHI, T3, Sedu, and bio-ionic. However my fav is FHI. It's like the CHI, but with improvements. I heard that there were 2 brothers over CHI, and they split, and one started FHI, the other stayed with CHI.

I was thinking the same thing. There are more votes for Sedu that have tried another iron so that seems like a 'step up' from the CHI or other flatiron.

This cost me about 180 after tax and broke within 3-4 months. Nice.

I didnt have the box and i didn't register it. Fucking hell.

Oh well, i like the sedu better anyway.

I have the basic 1in FHI ceramic, so I don't think you would need to spend the $400.

BTW, I bought mine 4 or 5 years ago, when the company was brand new, and it is still working perfectly (my CHI lasted less than a year). I've been thinking of getting a new one, just because they now come in different colors, and I am a total beauty whore. Oh and the FHI Curling irons are AWESOME. I got one for Valentines day and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
