I wish I knew. I hope you feel better soon.
Maybe your immune system is shot from one of the infections? Try some Emergen-C and see about getting those bad boys taken out.
It could just be viral tonsilitis. I know it's been making the rounds out here.
Possibly Mono.
I had the same symptoms you described recently, and they lasted 2 months....and I'm still slightly sick right now. I just could not shake that sore throaght, and my tonsils were very swollen with white spots on them. Always tired....
went to the doctor and he took one look at my throaght and decided it was tonsilitis caused by strep (didn't do a throaght culture or anything) and prescribed me antibiotics.
Guess what? He was WROOONG. We found out because a) I wasn't getting better, and b) after about 5 days on the antibiotics I developed a spotted rash on my body and my face turned bright red and hot (there's a thread a wrote about this too lol). We assumed it was an allergic reaction...(we were wrong)...
So after another 3 weeks of being sick I got back to the doctor (this was about a week ago, different doctor this time), and bingo it was mono the whole time. AND about that rash, apparently if you administer antibiotics to a person with mono, often times they develope a spotted rash and red face that mimicks an allergic reaction but isn't.
It also can confuse people into thinking it's something else like scarlet fever.
Interesting huh?

UTI then swollen tonsils? Me too..

Oh, and white spots on the tonsils generally means strep. Sore throat without spots is generally caused by a virus.
^^generally yes, but with mono you may get white spots on the throaght and it is a viral infection. This is how I was misdiagnosed with strep...which caused me later problems with the antibiotics as they can cause a strange reaction in persons with mono.

I had an reoccurance of mono in June. During that time I also had an UTI. They gave me Cipro for the UTI before testing my blood and discovering I had mono. It made me feel really weird, so maybe that's why they don't recommend mixing the two. Mono runs your body down pretty badly. If you don't get enough rest or get too stressed it'll be a lot worse. I am still recovering from it. I have to get adequate rest every night and eat properly. I have to listen to my body and when it tells me to lay down. I also started taking cranberry for the UTIs and haven't had one since. Take care of yourself.
^^yes the antibiotics mixed with mono can cause people to feel really strange and even develope a rash and a bright red face, which is what happened to me. I felt weird for the first few days on it and then boom, the rash and face thing started happening. It sucked let me tell you, I had NO idea what was going on.
