Interesting. I love crest white strips though! They cover all my teeth that show anyway.

Also, LuckiCharm already uses that avatar, it's kind of confusing. You should change.

I did the lazer whitening system in Thailand and it looked really amazing at first. Now one month later, I think I am about back to where I started. Pepsi coffee smoke etc just stained them back again. $500 ouch.

I did Zoom Whitening at the dentist's office last December, and it was the best $450 I ever spent. My whole life I've had hideous yellow-brown coffee teeth; I've always been ashamed of them. Now I love to smile at myself in the mirror and I smile and laugh much more often without worrying about hiding my teeth. I get a lot of compliments on my pretty smile. My only regret is that it took me so long before I did it.

^^^You used to have stained teeth? Wow... you are a walking ad for Zoom Whitening, then! Your teeth are lovely.

I love Crest Whitestrips, BTW. My only complaint is that they make my teeth really temperature-sensitive for a week or so after I use them. I buy about 1 box per year and do 4-5 days in a row every few months, and this is enough whitening for me. But I also use whitening toothpaste, and brush and floss like a fiend. I know I'm due for a few days of Whitestrip-ing when my teeth don't glow under the blacklights.

Thank you! Here's a before and after - the first pic was taken just a few weeks before I had the Zoom done. It's a miracle I even have it; there aren't many pictures of me showing my teeth before the whitening, and it's a bit embarrassing to post it here, so I'll offset it with an after of me goofing around on my webcam a couple months after the whitening. It took me two or three sessions. The whitening is supposed to take one hour but I wound up getting about two hours for the same price - I have a great dentist who just wanted to get it right. Like I said, best $450 I ever spent. It's done wonders for my confidence and self-esteem.

Well, not going to the dentist when you need to is even more disgusting.

I'm half British, I've spent half my life in the dentist's chair. When I had my Zoom done I brought my iPod and dozed through it. I can doze through a filling now too, I've had so many done. It's really sad how much I've spent on dental work over the course of my life. I've only been seeing my current dentist for a year or so and I think I've already bought him a yacht.

What's gross is people with blackened teeth rotted down to the gum line, draining pus, and smelling fouler than feces because they let their imaginations get the best of them and don't take care of their mouths. The largest needle I've ever seen any dentist use is not much bigger than a tiny insulin needle.

I don't know anything about Brite Smile. I'm sure there's a ton of info and comparisons online though. The thing that worked on my teeth was the hot light; I'd tried at-home bleach before and it never worked because the staining was so deep. The only way we were able to whiten my teeth was with the Zoom because they apply the bleach and then hold a UV light on it so the bleach penetrates deeper and works better. If Brite Smile comes with a UV light, it'll probably work just as well.

Haha, you kill me, dear. Have racked up over 2k in crowns. I have EXTREMELY sensitive teeth. I've used only the Crest whitestrips. I only use 'em occasionaly. I heard that anything that'll stain a white shirt, will stain your teeth. The toothpaste ones are stain removers, not actual whiteners, is what I've been told. When in dentist's office to pay a bill, he had a presntation on tv running about how store whiteners aren't any good, but maybe that's his propaganda.

Well, the store whiteners never worked on me. But as you can see, mine were especially bad. Even the Zoom procedure, which is supposed to be a quick one-hour dentist visit, took multiple sessions and two hours of exposure, plus strong bleach at home. On someone whose staining isn't as bad as mine was, the store whiteners might work better.

Teeth of the hydra, if you are not already using sensodyne with your whitestrips I highly recommend you buy some. You have to use it for a while (maybe a few weeks) before it starts to work. Anyway the first time I tried the whitestrips without sensodyne my teeth hurt SOOOO BADDDDDD for WEEKS. Now that I use sensodyne when I use the whitestrips they are only a tiny bit sensitive for about half a day!!!!!!! It's an amazing difference.

I heard about the listerine whitening dissolving strips but for some reason didnt think theyd be any good now I am glad to hear a good review..will def try them!

Big scary needle? naahhh......The xylocaine used for dental work comes in tiny little pre-filled cartridges....they load the cartridges into a rather intimidating syringe-jobby....it's big and stainless steel, and looks horrible, but the thing that actually punctures the gums to numb you is a pitiful looking little needle.....your mouth tends to be a little sensitive, so it pinches a bit more than say; a flu shot, but it's over quickly. If you have anxiety about it, most dentists will give you some gas to calm you. Or you could request that you be prescribed ativan or something specifically for your dental trips.

I also request that my injections contain no epinephrine, because I verge on panic attacks over needles, and the epinephrine got me in a bit of a sweat/nausea/heart pounding state. Since I was already panicky, the injection was enough to push me over the edge. So if you're scared, think about making that request as well. If you need extensive work, the epineprine is really a good thing, but if it's just a cavity; it's not necessary.

Keeping your mouth healthy is so important, and if you fail to, you'll be needing big scary needles full of antibiotics to keep you alive once your teeth abcess. Plus, you'll need to have teeth removed, which is a lot worse than cleaning and cavity-filling.
