omg i have no idea but that girl is sooo cute!!!
save a horse, ride a fox![SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Wow, she pretty much knows how to give an enema. How old is she? like 2 or 3? At that age, my baby sister finally learned how to use the toilet without falling in or off it! Cute kid though. I wonder where she learned that...if she saw it done on tv or if the mom or someone else had to go to the hospital to get it done and yeah...

"push! push!"
"pbbbbbt!"
"now wipe the butt. all better."
that was freeeakin' hilarious!![]()
although i'm slightly concerned how the little girl is so familiar with the procedure.![]()

let's just hope she is simply born to be a nurse

maybe mom was giving the kid enemas?
"You can close your eyes to reality but not to memories -Stainslaw J. Lec
Confuscius say: "Man who pull bra stap get bust in face"
Wow, that's scary. If mom is giving enemas often enough for the girl to be so savvy, there might be a problem...
wtf?![]()

She probably had to give her kid an enema, and demonstrated it on a teddy bear.
It's common practice in pediatric nursing to use play therapy to explain things to the kid and thus lessen anxiety.
Oh, and don't think that it's done so often that the kid is familiar. Kids have great memory if you can catch their attention.

^ that's all fine and dandy, but why was she taping it and laughing like that?

God, some of you are so harshly judgmental. It's a funny imitation. I'm starting to question the knowledge of a lot of you.
Wow that is rude!!! Just because different people have different ideas on how to raise children doesn't mean that they are stupid. How rude!!! This is a forum. A forum is a place where people state their opinions on topics...they're going to be different, just because it goes against what you think doesn't make it wrong.
I vote for innocent hilarity. And hilarious it was.

Yeah, I'm seeing a lot of backseat parenting and puritanical opinions. For example, I would bathe with my parents when I was a little kid because in Japan, bathing is a family and social activity. I was also breastfed until I was 2 1/2 because we were living in a foreign country with dirty drinking water. Some close-minded, opinionated people automatically assume that my parents are pedophiles and that my mom was an indulgent, permissive granola.
This kid, by the way, is Asia Carrera's kid, Catalina. I've read her blog and forum regularly, and she does not give kids regular enemas or molest her kids. Her kid is a very smart kid who knew sign language at age 6 months and can identify all sorts of fish. Her kid was raised to imitate mommy, and this is yet another thing that she imitates. She posted the clip because the kid is a cute, precocious little thing! See the 8/16 post that links to this video.
For pete's sake, my mom taped me saying, "Boys have penis, girls have vagina," and explaining where babies came from. Is that cause for concern, as they were teaching me about private parts? I'd see reason for concern if she was pretend-fellating her teddy bears, but this is just simple imitation of mommy's explanation. Seriously, we do stuff like this all the time in pediatric nursing, and they imitate them on dolls even if it was done just once. I explained and demonstrated catheterization to a little kid using a dolly once ("You can't go pee pee, so we'll help you!)! Would you prefer the kid to be held down and screaming, or would you like the procedure to be explained in a way that kids understand?

I think that anyone who watches that and automatically suspects abuse is stupid. Most people who have been around kids know that kids sometimes get constipated and need enemas, that kids do better if explained in kiddie ways, that kids imitate (try saying a bad word around a kid and you'll see their propensity for imitation), and that parents love to tape these cute, funny moments.
It's people like this who drive men away from jobs like elementary education and daycare because people are so quick to assume and judge. For pete's sake, I have a male friend who is an elementary school teacher and constantly feels like he's under the radar just because he has a penis, never mind the recent epidemic of Mary Kay Letorneaus. He doesn't ever let himself be alone in a room with a female student lest he's suspected. If a girl has a too-short skirt or something, he asks a female teacher to deal with it.

well, i disagree with that just like you disagree with our caution.
it's truly unfortunate but we live in a world along side monsters hidden among us. but i don't think it's harmful to be extra cautious. i have (and raised) three kids but i make care not to be alone with other people's kids for propriety sake.
some people are completely cool with me taking care of their kids because they frankly think i'm a better parent. but there are others that see "penis/potential abuser". while personally i may be offended i also understand their position. better safe than sorry. what's my hurt feelings versus the possible abuse that may occur with some other person? small price.
i found the video to be high-larious too! but i just thought it was very unusual. is that position puritanical?
i would say more unusual/uncommon.
i thought your response was harsh though. harsher than the mild accusations we made.

^I didn't say that people shouldn't be concerned about their kids. I'm saying that they shouldn't automatically that the clip was abuse/molestation.
When I said puritanical, I was referring to the people who thought that the kid was being taught perverse things. By that logic, naked baby pics = kiddie porn and teaching where babies come form = sexual abuse.

ok, understood.![]()
i also agree, the body's natural. hygiene and such are not just normal but necessary.
and girls more than boys have hygienic issues, as i'm slowly learning.![]()
this situation/topic is strangely close to home for me so don't think i don't sympathize. my daughter had a UTI or something this year and our doctor asked certain questions of my daughter and eyed me sideways when she thought i didn't see during the exam.
was i hurt/offended? yes, but i'd still rather the doctor inquire than gloss over and miss something and my daughter might suffer. (btw, she was wiping in the wrong direction) blech.![]()

Okay, my point was that innocent kid stuff like this, which illustrates the way kids think and learn, is blown way out of proportion. I mean, would people consider this hilarious potty-training clip or Mr. Rogers' book Going to the Potty to be taboo? Kids learn from examples, and it would break my heart if these wonderful methods of examples and recordings of childhood were to be considered taboo and perverted. Who doesn't have naked baby pictures? It just pisses me off that some people (cough Jerry Falwell, damn his soul) have nothing better to do than sit around and argue that Bert and Ernie are gay, when there are real threats out there.

who said anything about abuse? there were a few comments about slight concern.. i didnt see abuse til these posts by you two.
oh, and you really question our intelligence? and people are stupid? wow, you are such a charming person. do ya have to get into insults like that? really now...

I admit that I'm also scared. For example, as aforementioned, kids do much better in the hospital when explained in an appropriate way. What if demonstrating on an anatomically correct doll or showing a cute, anatomically correct cartoon was considered taboo? Kids are traumatized by fear, and what if the masses stupidly choose puritanical censoring over getting the kid to understand?
I think some people are taking someone's exclamation of frustration waaaaaay too personally.
