    vegas competition is intimidating!!

Hi, I live in Vegas and I want to be a dancer. The industry is so big here that is intimidating!!! It seems I have to be super hot and experienced. Feeling intimidated makes me hesitant about my dance moves. I feel like Cameron Diaz in Charlie's Angel's and I feel like I'll look like the naked sloppy chik or the stripper granny you once saw at a bad party I'm considering classes and/or buying a pole but since I'm not dancing yet they seem so expensive!! Any advice is kool, specially if you've been to vegas.

^^that's kinda how I feel (the Charlie's Angel's thing)....I think you're really nervous about how to move when you're on stage. If you have your heels or an outfit, dance in your room, that has helped me get a little more confident in how to move.

classes might not be a bad idea, honestly. It might help you get hired if you look like you know what you're doing when you go to audition in Vegas especially I would think...

I'm actually taking a pole class starting this Sunday...it's never a bad idea to take steps to get yourself comfortable up there. It's not always necessary, but yeah I've heard about Vegas and as a newb like you, I would be very nervous about getting started there.

Maybe try some of the lesser known clubs to start out at, since competition is so rough...then move up to places like the Rhino. Geez man, I feel your pain...i've heard those girls will eat newb's alive.

I've got a few reasons getting in the way of me starting dancing unfortunately, but damn I'm glad I'm not in Vegas...

Don't worry about it! I want to be a dancer too, but i have to do nude dancing because i'm under 21, so i've kinda been scoping some clubs out. ehh... but you shouldn't be intimidated. i haven't done pole dancing but i'm sure it'll help during your audition. i've been dancing on stage and stuff since i was a little kiddo.. and all i gotta say is make sure you suck in your stomach and smile. when you're up there just be confident & do what feels right, flirting with your audience helps too and act like you're the fucking rockstar! it's not really the moves you do, it's how you sell it.

I dance in Vegas and Ya'll are being silly. If you are not "perfect" avoid the following clubs: Scores, Rhino night shift, Paradise. Other than that, everyone looks exactly like every dancer in any other club in any other city in any other state. We have fat, skinny, ugly, pretty, hot, fake, natural, and everything in between. Go into the strip club and take a look around. If you are nervous just audition for the 4am shift. Pretty much anyone gets hired for days. And you can pay offstage and not go on stage or you can just work at Seamless where you dont go on stage after 4 am anyway. Vegas is not like u see in the movies and the girls in the cirque shows are overall much more toned than us strippers.post some pics if u want some more feedback.but seriously vegas is nothing to be scared of.

^It's interesting because so many people tell new dancers to avoid vegas, and don't reccomend a new girl starting there. (picture wide eyed responses like "girl, don't do it", that kind of an attitude) I think that's more due to the high hustle expected in vegas as opposed to the glamazon career strippers. I've wondered before how much truth there is to this and how much of it is hype.

But I think you gave her really good advice.

^^ I think it really depends on how the new girl is...If it's the type of girl saying, OMG, am I to fat? to ugly? I don't know..I kinda wanna be a stripper, it's realyl cool, but I'm kinda scared, hmm, ohh, I don't know....

That shit will not fly in Vegas, and she will get eaten alive.

Now if you've got a brand new srtipper ready to take on the world...Saying fuck yeah, I can do this. I'm sexy as hell, I think I got the skills, I know how men work, I'm gonna love it.
This girl will hit the floor running, maybe be a little scared, a little intimidated, but she will fight through it, and learn on the way.

The other girl is onna walk into the club, say omg. It's so big. Omg. 300 girls and they are all hotter than me. omg. I can't do it. I'm scared. it's scary.

Well..she is gonna stand iin the corner and let the intimidation take over.

There is a learnign curve to hustlign in Vegas, a seasoned stripper will have the skills and techniqes, but will still have some thigns to learn, just as a brand new stripper.

A new stripper starting in Vegas gotta have the thick skn from the start...be ready and able to let shit roll off your back.

Honestly...I was a much betetr stripper when I was new and stil lsorta niave. I just did what came naturally, instead of trying to apply "techniques" and sales skills.
I just talked to people, was naturally likeable, and sold dances easily.

Everyone seems to thinkthis is like, stripper capitol of the worls, and all strippers here loko liek supermodels. That's what I thought. Because people at my old club back home told me so. They told me I'd never make it here because I wasn't rpetty enough for Vegas, and I didn't have fake boobs. ALL stripper in Vegas have fake boobs ( ok...not far from the truth, but still, LOL)

You know...I got here, and I fit in just fine.

Vegas really isn't as scary as everyone makes it sound. And it isn't as glamorous, and it isn't as lucritave. Girls expect to jump off a plane and make a grand by sneezing in a guy's direction. It just don't work that way. Money can be good...if you work hard, very hard for it. But money can be good just about anywhere if you work hard for it.

I feel you! I never work the clubs in Vegas. I do private entertainment there tho, and the $ is unbeatable. But someday I might get up the nerve to go platinum blonde and then we'll see if I can cut it on a vegas stage...

Thanks!! I'm gonna start wearing my heels often to practice the dancing, and feel more confident when dancing, and I'm looking into dancing classes. Has anyone in Vegas tried the pole/floorwork classes? I wanna try the ones @ the Aladdin/ Planet Hollywood Casino, they're only $25 per session!!!!

Where do you work at cheetachick? Vegasgrl I am there with you. I am new and thinking about dancing as well. The problem is that I don't live there so we will see how everything goes. How is everything working out for you?

This is how everyone in Sacramento talked about Reno. Took me FIVE years to get enough courage to go and big freakin deal. Its the same thing just more girls. Im already bored with Reno - its a WAY bigger club than Sacramento but now that Ive been there a year and a half it may as well be a tiny club. Boring. Im soooo excited to go to Vegas and be in a bigger place with more men to hustle. Woohoo!!!!!

As per starting in Vegas... dont let people scare you out of dancing there. Its just like any other place - just bigger. Theres room in every city for every type of girl. And youll develop your 'stripper persona' in no time...
