    Strobe Cream?

How many of you girls wear strobe cream regularly? I bought some MAC strobe cream a while back and I haven't even tried it yet. It takes me a while to paint the face, so I've been lazy and haven't used any of it yet. What does it do exactly? Is it worth applying? Opinions, tips, comments? Thanks all!

I'd never heard of it either. I kinda doubt that it would glow under blacklight but you never know, the name makes you think it would.

It doesn't glow under blacklight, it just gives a little iridescent shimmer. I don't apply it over my entire face, I just use my fingers and use it to highlight my cheekbones, my nose and maybe along my forehead a little. I use it under any foundation, bronzer or blush. I don't wear it all the time, but I do like it.

I like it on lighter skin. It's too white for me. A lot of girls mix a tiny bit with their foundation to give an overall glow. If you are tan though, I suggest you look for something more golden.

ETA: No it will not make you glow under black lights!

I *LOVE* strobe cream! One of the best MAC purchases I ever made!
I use it exactly as holiday described. I put a little on my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose, my chin, like a highlighter. I have used it under my foundation and also mixed in with it, like LatinaRose described. It gives your skin a nice glow. Just don't use too much. Sometimes after I apply it I blend it with a damp makeup sponge for a more natural look.

But it is definitely one of those products I just couldn't live without!

    Thumbs up Re: Strobe Cream?

I used it for the first time tonight and I think I am hooked! It really made my makeup and my face glow, and look so silky smoothe instead of cakey-looking facepaint! I think I used a little too much, though. I'm just gonna dab it on my cheeks, nose, forhead, and chin like you guys suggested next time. It was also way easier for me to apply my foundation with the extra moisture from the cream. I highly recommend this stuff! I kept looking at my face everytime I passed by the mirror in the dressing room...I just loved the dewey-glow look it gave me! MAC Strobe Cream is totally worth the purchase IMO!

Actually, it looks awful on most light skin. Mom is dark olive (NC 400 or 500 I think) and it works well to brighten her up, but it is WAY to pink for my fair skin. Makes me look really ruddy, unless I'm really tan, then it's ok.

Jaizaine, it's a permanent product and should be available all the time.

I've always read on specktra that it is too pink for darker skin and can make you look ashy. Maybe I'll grab a sample next time I'm at MAC.

^^ Never thought of that. Mom never complains about getting ashy on her face, she always worries about getting sallow (not really sure what that is).

Anywho, she uses that stuff under her makeup and it gives her this glowy, lit from within thing. I tried it (because I'm a moron and always try mom's stuff, even though we have dramatically different complexions) and it made me look like I had the shiny, pink face of someone drastically ill. Eeh, seems like I woulda learned to leave her stuff alone sometime in the last 31 years.

It looks fabulous in small doses on my very fair skin, but I actually have a somewhat yellow-toned fair complexion. It gives me a great healthy glow.

I got the impression from the MUA at the M.A.C. store that it looks good on most Caucasian- and Asian-toned people in moderation. She only used just a very little bit on me.

^^ Maybe that's why it looks so bad on me. I've only got yellow tones if I use a sunless tanner. I'm a pink and blue toned girl, and this makes me look REALLY reddish-pink. Although, every sales lady at the counter tries to sell it to me everytime I'm there. I think maybe they are told it looks good on all fair skinned girls. Dunno...

Edit: I should add that Lancome's photogenic makes me look greyish-blue, so maybe my coloring is just weird.

Specktra is my favorite makeup site! I've learned so much on there.
