    Default feeling nauseas at work

The past few weeks when it gets really late at work (i work long shifts from 7pm to about 6am and when it gets to about 4am) i have been starting to feel really nauseated. I thought it might be from not drinking enough water during the night. Then I worried i was pregnant coz i have stopped taking the pill in the last 5 weeks.

On saturday night I started feelign nauseated but this time I started vomiting everywhere. But I had not eaten for a while so it was just saliva coming up. Sunday during the day I felt so unwell i went to the doctor and had to get a maxilon (I think) injection to help with the extreme nausea and vomiting.

I am feeling much better today. I wonder if I have had some sort of virus or bug for a few weeks and then it just got really bad.
Im really hoping im not pregnant tho.

Usually not for a couple of weeks. I would take a pregnancy test just to be sure. If the nausea and vomiting keep up and you are not pregnant I'd go back to the doc.

there was no vomiting until sat night. just a mild nausea.
it was just sat night when i vomited. i felt very weak all day today as i had not eaten for 2 days. now i have eaten and feel much better.

i am just trying to rule out pregnancy. last week my nipples were so sore it hurt to have my bra on. i guess i should take a test.

Maybe your body is just reacting to going off of the pill. Like, when I STARTED birth control, I felt sick like that randomly... I even started throwing up at work once (that really sucked).

If you are only feeling nauseous at work after working for a long time, you are probably dehydrated, tired and/or hungry. Have you ever had blood sugar problems, or suspected that you might? Hypoglycemia can result in nausea when blood sugar plummets. For example, I can't fast without making myself sick. After about 14 hours, I get horribly nauseous and after 15-16, I start throwing up. I know fasting is supposed to have all sorts of cleansing benefits, but it's just not worth it to me. My hypoglycemic ass needs to eat.

However. If you are feeling queasy all the time, you've got a bit of sleuthing to do. First of all, rule out pregnancy. If that's negative, consider pathogens that may be present in your home. Do you have pets, especially amphibians, reptiles, and/or birds? Pets can sometimes carry the same bacteria that cause food-borne illness, but the pets will not display symptoms.

If you live with someone, find out if they've been feeling ill, too. Consider something germy which may be causing repeated infection (such as an shared/unwashed hand towel). You can do a full-scale kitchen and bathroom disinfection if your symptoms persist and are not traceable to more obvious causes (such as pregnancy or hypoglycemia).

I don't think that it's terribly likely that your nausea is caused by sneaky, hidden germs, or bacteria-laden pets, but it's certainly possible. I'm also not a doctor, so if you cannot attribute your nausea to an obvious cause, you should probably consult one before you put your trust in my lay diagnoses.

Are you eating enough through the day? Not sure why you are throwing up though. I usually only do that if I have taken an antibotic or pain pill / OTC pain pill and have not eaten enough.

    ^^
i have been taking anti biotics because i had a bladder infection.

i also do get very low blood sugar levels if i dont eat regularly so that is a good point too.

i have not left the house yet to get a pregnancy test, it's only lunchtime here.

Antibiotics usually make me nauseous. I try to take them on top of yogurt or something equally coating.

Oh, the type of antibiotics usually prescribed for bladder infections (Cipro, in this country) are terribly hard on the stomach. It would be good if that was the problem, simply because it'll be over soon. In a meantime, eat a lot of yogurt, and/or take acidophilus capsules, (sp?) the live-culture ingredient in yogurt. I think that nausea can be caused in part by the death of the "good" bacteria in your system. Try ginger root too... chewed, made into tea, or grated/sliced in your water.

And damn it woman... eat! I wouldn't wish the hypoglycemic barfy-spinny-shaky feeling on anybody! Take some hummuus and pita to work with you, some veggies, crackers and cheese, or a serving of sushi, if there's a fridge. Small meals that are low in sugar are the way to go.

I forgot about the antibiotics when i made the post. I was feelign better and then today i felt dizzy and started feeling sick again and also having a panic attack. Then I started thinking maybe it's anxiety related.
I still plan to take the pregnancy test but I dont think that is what it is TBH, at least I hope not.

    The test was negative.

Does anyone have any info about side effects from stopping taking the pill. I was on microgynon. Ever since I stopped taking it I have felt a bit unstable mentally, a little blue I guess but not clinical depression. I often feel teary and I am not coping with work very well. I think the nausea started soon after stopping it but has been worse in the past couple of weeks.

Maybe its a mix of being tired/hungry/anxious all mixed into one.

I know that when I have to wake up earlier than normal or if I don't get enough sleep the night before or don't eat enough during the day, I end up getting sick. And then I become so upset and nervous about throwing up that it just exacerbates the issue and I feel worse and throw up more.

If you rule out the bc pills, pregnancy, antibiotics, it could easily just be your body telling you that its exhuasted and running on empty and that you need to take a nap and get some food in your tummy.
