I was in the bathroom last night and a girl in the dressing room was talking on her phone saying things like "That means scheduals, what if they don't want me to work days. What if they think I'm too old? What if they don't want me because I have tatoos? I'm really scared," shit like that. She also said something about "We're not allowed to talk about it." So that left me wondering.
A few hours later I was talking to a regular and I brought it up (he's in this club everyday, so I figured he might have a clue). He said, "yeah, this clubs been sold, but nothing will happen for 3-6 months."
I love my club. I love how everthings run. The house fees are low, we don't have scheduals, and when the new law about if you weren't 21 you had to be on payroll came about, they gave us shots to sell so we could still dance.
So now I'm nervous. If this is true it could mean a lot of change. They might decide they don't want dancers under 21. They might fire all of us and make us audition again. They might be strict with scheduals (which will be hard living so far away in the winter, I'm not going to kill myself to get to work.) I'm looking inti buying a house right now, something fucking up my job would be a BIG DEAL.
Has anyone worked in a club that switched ownership? Am I freaking out over nothing?
