As I have posted I have been under the weather the last couple of days. My dogs won't leave my side. Do your animals sense when something is wrong with you?

I've absolutely had that experience. I had a major ear operation once and a dog that was staying with me wouldn't leave me--he actually seemed to mimic my emotions, like he had some extraordinary sense of empathy. Animals are really amazing this way.
Hope you're feeling better soon.

definitely. I'm sick right now and feeling like ass; I called out of work last night and just slept. And I had two cats and a dog all taking turns cuddling up next to me, purring and licking and kneading me with their paws. awwwwww.....
It's not mystical. Dogs have a keener sense of smell than we can imagine. If they can sniff a pinch of marijuana in the middle of a suitcase, they can sniff your changed body chemistry. In fact, there's hope that they can be trained in cancer detection.
What about cats?
My cats can sense when something is wrong with me, because they are up my ass 24/7. Annoying, and sweet......
This recent article tells the story of Oscar the cat -- he has an uncanny ability to know when the residents of the nursing home he lives in are near death:

Semi-related.
My dad has sleep apnea, and he's the only person I know who can sleep upright in a chair, and falls asleep in a matter of seconds. His snoring is obnoxiously loud, like it drowns out the TV.
Our dog, a golden retriever, goes crazy when he starts snoring. We don't know if she's worried about him, or if she just hates the noise of snoring. But when he falls asleep on the couch downstairs, she leaps, all four paws outstretched superman style, on top of him to wake him up.
She isn't allowed on furniture, but his snoring is so annoying, and it's so funny to watch, we let her do it every time
On a side note, there are many types of therapy dogs that are trained to notice changes in heart rate and pulse, and have been known to give advance warning of heart attacks/strokes.
When I used to take care of a neighbor's husband who was severely brain damaged during the day, the dogs were very aware of him. He had a seizure when I was with him once, and the dogs immediately ran over to his side about 30 seconds before it happened and were nudging him and whining.

Most definitely. My Westie doesn't hang around my husband a lot but when he's sick she's sleeps on top of him.

My female and male cocker spaniel would lie on the floor near my bed when I was ill and put my hand on their head whereas normally they'd kind of ignore me unless I had a treat, fed them, or took them out to play/walk. Both of them have since passed.

my kitten always spends a lot of time with me but today i was super upset over my car and she laid in my lap for an hour while i was on the phone. she doesnt usually lay with me for a long period of time like that except at night or if im in bed and she wants to sleep with me.
