    Default Deja Vu auditions

Hi. I'm preparing to audition for some of the SC in San Francisco. However, most of the clubs appear to be owned by Deja Vu. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what their auditions were like for a SC in SF or for a Deja Vu club? Also, what did you bring with you to the audition? Thanks!

Is it wrong that all I want to say is find a club that isn't owned by Deja Vu? 9 times out of 10 they are going to treat you like shit and IMO it's not worth all the drama and hassles of working for them. Trust me, I've worked for a Deja Vu club before.

Some Deja Vu clubs are better than others. You'll discover the reputation of each club in the area (eg, some are dirtier than others). Anyways, don't stress about the audition. Really, I've never understood why clubs make girls audition. They don't really look at your stage skills and you can tell when the girl walks in what she looks like. It's just a power trip, IMO.

You should be able to find a ton of threads about just starting out. I'd suggest getting some real stripper shoes and at least one real stripper outfit, go as cheap/simple as you wish (triangle top and skirt/booty shorts). It will help you feel less like a noobie.

Ummm, it really depends on which club specifically when it comes to San Fran. Yes, most of them are Deja Vu's, but the hiring process varies greatly.

Some don't actually make you audition, they just look you over.

Do you already know that the clubs you are considering specifically require an audition?

Thanks for the advice. Do you have any recommendations as to where I should get a costume in SF? I was thinking of getting 6” heels. If I do an audition at a nude club, will they expect me to get completely nude?

I think there are only two clubs in SF that aren’t owned by Déjà vu. I’m not sure about the exact reputation of the clubs. I talked to one of the dancers when I was visiting Centerfolds and she said that the dancers at Mitchell Brothers make over $1000, but that’s because it’s like a brothel. I’ve heard that Garden of Eden is seedy, but apparently it was remodeled a couple of months ago and they fired a lot of girls, so I don’t know anymore. I’m not planning on auditioning at Centerfolds, Broadway Showgirls, Gold Club or Hustler because starting out, I think that there would be too much competition as I’ve heard the dancers there are not only hot, but also really good hustlers.

Any place I have auditioned, Deja Vu or not, if it was a nude club I had to get nude.

    Bella,
A really sweet bartender who did the audition at my first club said they always do auditions because otherwise, once in a while, some new girl comes in for a job then freaks out on stage and realizes she can't get naked. Kinda a mood killer.

Just be careful in SF. I've never worked there, but I've heard it has some of the highest stage fees in the country. Pick one with lower fees to start at, if you can. I'd hate to see you get in the hole so early on before you have any hustle skills.

I would suggest Gold Coast if you are pretty, fit, and have any dancing skills at all. The night manager Eben is very fair and a sweet guy, so I recommend calling and asking when he's working. Don't say anything on the phone about auditioning, just go when he's there. Also, Broadway Showgirls is a great club, and have recently changed staff. The new manager Ian is also awesome and they have a great housemom. These clubs are gown clubs and last time I danced there it was still the "go home and change" rule if you wore anything related to booty shorts.

But for a sweet girl with any education, good looks and good manners it is ridiculously easy to make $$ at these clubs.

There is a dress shop next door to Broadway Showgirls... 'Meh. But I highly recommend Ultimate Elegance on El Camino Real in San Mateo (call 411 for the address). Their gear is less than half price of stuff in the city and if you drive out there early (11am or so) it's only a 25 min drive w/no traffic. It is sooo worth it, trust me.

And tho it was meant well, please do not follow the advice about avoiding high stage fee clubs in SF. I have worked at MANY clubs in SF and the two that I recommended are the ONLY ones I continue to visit on my tours. There is a good reason for that. Many of the clubs in SF are just houses of prostitution with managers and staff that will throw you to the wolves (not to say that all the girls in these clubs are ho's...). The ones with low fees are usually the ones with the most shady practices. If you want confirmation, just google "gentleman's clubs san francisco, ca" and take a peek at some of the clubs' websites. They are not very discreet about making it known that you get what you pay for...

PS, the clubs I mentioned are topless only, and audition onstage.

Does anyone know the specific names of clubs in SF that are known to have prostitution/seedier clubs?

Also, which clubs have the best and worst managers?

MBOT, Market St Cinema, Crazy horse, all have some kind of pos.

At Crazy Horse customers could jerk themself off during a private show. The other 2 are openly for working girls.

quoted for truth. MBOT has higher stage fees than the other two, and hotter women.

^^ Who's "everyone"? Certainly not the experienced dancers here. If by "most professional" these people mean "Most regimented and controlling with all kinds of asinine rules and regulations that most often benefit only the management and not the dancer", then yes, they sure are the "most professional".

why do so many girls on SW hate on deja vu? maybe the DV clubs in other states suck, but damn near ALL the clubs out here are DV and management seems to be good out here. personally, i have the best managers in the WORLD...but thats just my opinion. pretty much if you live in SF and wanna be a stripper, you better get in good with deja vu. because most of the clubs are on the same street...and litterally RIGHT NEXT DOOR to each other. so all the managers know each other, the door guys sometimes switch clubs to fill in...the girls bounce around day to day depending on how slow their house club is doing....blah blah blah. so in my opinion, its a GOOD idea to work for deja vu. Especially the broadway clubs...because it gives you a lot more options. lets say you work at one club (club X) and another club is short on girls...just go over there and work. tell the manager you are from club X and you came to fill in. simple. and most of the clubs that arent on broadway, as mentioned before are brothels...mitchell brothers is the WORST. market street cinema...whore house...o'farrell theater....bad bad bad....crazy horse isn't AS bad. but its still some hoes in the house...as i've noticed, the girls at other clubs tend to take their "business" outside of the clubs more often than not. or maybe im just oblivious to the nastiness. but the manager at pink diamonds (set to have its grand opening feb 15th) made it VERY, VERY, VERY clear he wanted CLEAN dancers. i'm sure he wouldn't hesitate to fire a chick if he saw her getting "down"
