    Default Tonsilitis

I've already did a little research on the internet...just wondering if any of you have had tonsilitis and what are the main symptoms. Yesterday at about 4, I started feeling really achy and so I layed down. Later on, I got a fever and had body aches. Woke up this morning and the fever and aches are about gone, but my throat and ears hurt and my neck is kinda stiff.
All this after just getting rid of a cold a few weeks ago...Ugh.

It could be tonsilitis. Take a flashlight and go to the mirror and look at the back of your throat. If there are white spots there then there is a good chance its tonsilitis most likely strep. If so go to an ER or call your MD for an antibiotic. Local measures like chloroseptic spray(over the counter) will alleviate some of the pain and tylenol will help the fever and aches but nothing but antibiotics may cure the problem. Your ears probably ache because the tubes that drain them run to the back of the throat and are swollen. Have the doctor check them too to be sure the ear drums/canal is OK. An over the counter antihistamine decongestant can reduce the swelling in the tubes and help the pain. Good luck.
