Default Done with my hair guy.

I'm dumping my extension dude. I've had enough. in 8 weeks, I lost a total of 50 strands of hair. I've done EVERYTHING he told me to do.

Aside from the slippage, his sexual advances and nosy questions have made me feel so uncomfortable. His unprofessional attitude is disturbing.

    For example:
He asked me one day( I see him once a week to put my strands back in that have fallen out) he asked me if I wanted to go to dinner with him after he finished. I told him I wasn't feelign well. ( still bleeding frm the miscarriage)
He asked me what was wrong. I said I was sick. He asked sick how?
I said, Oh..just not feelign well, I'll be fine.
He continued to push, kept questioning me.
I finally broke down and told him I was in the midst of a miscarriage and I felt it was none of his business.
He proceeded to give me " advice" on it.
    Did your boyfriend want it?
    Did you do drugs?
Maybe it was for the best.
    These thigns happen.
Blah blah. None of yrou business!!!!

Then, every single time I see him he reminds me not to go to bed with wet hair. Then he tell sme to never have sex with wet hair. Then he asks me what my faviorite position is. Do you liek missionary? Do you liek it doggy? Come on what is it? How do you liek it? When I avoid the questions, he keeps pushing.

Then he got on the subject of boob jobs and asked if i had one. I said, isn't it obvious? I have very small breasts.
    "What size?"
    They are small, haha
    What size?
    Small.
Aww come on, they gotta be a size, a, b, or c??
    What is it??
They are small, dammit, and it's none of yoru business!!

Then he tells me I cannot be a natural blonde because I have dark roots. I said that I was in fact natural blonde, I don't knwo why my roots grow in so dark.
he said, let me see yoru eyebrows. Oh, I gues sthey are blonde. What color is downstairs?
Are you fucking serious?? I refused to answer the question.

Then he offered me a complimentary massage on his new massage table.

He behaves himself when I take my boyfriend along.
When my boyfrend is nto there, he tried to talk badly about him.
Like one day I forget the conversation but he said oh come on...isn't that the LEAST your man can do for you? I said, my guy does enough for me.
Or he asked wher emy boyfrienmd was and I said playign on the computer. and he said, awww. is that all he ever does? Play on the computer? he never spends time with you, does he?

The number 1 thing you can do to piss me off is try to talk badly about my boyfriend. That will not be tolerated. I am very loyal, as is he.

    WTF is this?

I want to inform him that the questions he asks are very rude and personal and none of his damn business, but I'm scared to be rude, because I need him. I'm searching for a new person to do my hair, and I'm having difficulty finding someone.
Gues has offered to take on the job for me, so I'm dumping this asshole.
I can't complain to his boss because he does my hair on the side, outside of his day job.

he just makes me so incredibly uncomfortable. Maybe he thinks that we are"friends" and he can talk to me liek this. I don't want a friend. I want a hair guy. Professional relationship. I do not wish to discuss my sexual positions or the color of my pubic hair or the state of my health.

    GRR. Needed to complain.

Heres a tip for anyone interested in extensions:

Go to more than 1 consult. Don't pick the first person you meet. Have backups. I probably woudl have went with this guy anyway, because he seemed to know his shit well, and acted professionalyl when I met him. But had I gone on more than 1 consult, I woudl have had a backup I coudl have started seeing when this guy started his shit.

Ya know what I fuckign HATE??

People who assume because your a stripper, your easy, and open to talk about sexual things.

Thanks for listening to my rant. Will my hair drama every end?

Yeah, I'd definately dump his ass. He was VERY inappropriate with you. That's why when I danced I never told people outside the club what I did, they'd always make stupid assumptions.

I'm sorry you had such a bad experiance with him. I kinda had a weird feeling about him when I had my consult and decided not to go forward. What are you going to do now? I didn't go on any more consults becouse I was getting my BA anyways but when I get back to Vegas I'll let you know if I find someone

    Where did you meet him?

I met him at a starbucks, and he acted perfectly professional and knowledgable. But then again.....my first impressions of people are usually trusting, cause I'm naive and assume everyone is nice.

I didn't tell him at first, I told him I was a model. Usually I tell people either that, or I'm unemployeed. But after a few meetings, I told the truth...which was a bad aidea, for the reasons listed, and because he wanted me to go "?promote" with him at my club. He wanted me to go to my work with him and drum up business. First of all. I don't do "favors" He isn't my friend. Nothign is free. Second of all. I'm not going to my lpace of employment and try to round up girls for him. Fuck that.

    grrfuck.

I met him at a Starbucks, too. And he asked me to promote him also.

He asked you to promote him before he even did your hair?
WTF? How can you promote a product you've never used?

He grilled me like crazy on how I knew you. I tried to be vague, and he kept grilling me. I tried just saying some forum. Some stripper forum. He wanted the addy. He wouldn't let it go. So I lied. I gave him a different address. I didn't want him on here.
I was hoping he wouldn't ask you...or that you wouldn't tell him.

I'm so embarassed now. I'm sorry for recommending him to you, and I'm sorry you were put off.

No, honey - you have no reason to feel embarassed! I asked for his name, remember? Pls. don't feel bad at all.
He said after I got it done I could tell all the girls who did my hair and he would give me $100 for each referal. He asked me how I knew you, too, and I said "online". He was really trying to push me into putting a deposit down and was kinda haggeling with prices with me, and I thought it was weird.

Wow. Just...wow. Is he straight or gay? I've known gay guys who talk to me like that and for some reason that doesn't bother me at all. Now, if a straight man talked to me like that...oh, hell no.

Either way, if you aren't down for those topics of conversation then you're just not. I usually have to tell hair stylists that I like to relax in the chair rather than talk so they're not all blah, blah, blah, about where I'm from and what I do and TV and celebrities, etc.

You would think gay. He seems gay.

However...step into his house, and you discover he is definatly straight.

Artwork, paintings, figurines....all of breasts. Thoes girly hustler calenders of boobies....

    Definatly a horney straight guy.

Had he been gay....Different story. Then I wouldn't mind so much...but still...there is a time and place for sex talk, and it does not belong in a professional relationship.

He pushed me for a deposit as well, which I thought was understandable. He needs to know you are for sure getting the hair done before he pays to order it. Although he was definatly very pushy about it. I todl him I didn't have the money on me, and he wanted me to go to the atm. Or the bank. He would wait for me while i went. I explained it was not at the atm or bank, but in my house, and he wanted me to go home and get it and come back.

I also haggled prices, because he quoted $1600 plus the cost of the coloring. I refused to pay any more than $1600 and he said he would throw in the color for free.
He also has this habit of giving things he ows you and says, my free gift to you. COmplimentary.

    For example.

When I had my hair maintained the other day, I had a lot of shedding and needed some hair replaced. He said he would order in more hair, and that it woudl be in by the time I had to get my hair redone. He also told me that I would not have to pay for the extra hair.

When I got my hair redone, I discovered he wasn't using hair he ordered. It was just leftovers from before. Stuff I already paid for. Then he said...This is complimentary, no charge for you.
    1. He already told me I wouldn't pay for it. No need to remind me I'm getting it free. Like, rub it in he's giving me somethign for nothing.
    2. It wasn't free gift. I already paid for the shit! That was MY leftover hair!

    such a stress.

What a dill hole!! $1600 AND he's overstepping his boundaries?? That's insane. Don't give him any more of your money. I'm sure you can find an awesome black woman like I did who will do a decent weave for a couple hundred bucks.
I used to have the same type of extensions you have and it just wasn't worth the money. They fall out way too fast.

He's crossed the line way too many times with the inappropriate questions, I would've kicked his ass to the curb a long time ago. There's lots of good people out there who do hair well and will treat their customers in a courteous, professional manner. Try to look for them instead. You are paying way too much to put up with this crap.

I actually emailed him..I didn't have the balls to say anythign about his inappropriate comments...I'm a wuss I guess. But I did tell him I thought it was time for me to seek a second opinion on why I have so many issues with the extensions. He wrote back and said I was right. He would call HairLocs and ask them for a referral for someoen with more experience than him so I can get a second opinion.

What a pervy creep!!! I can't believe he would act so inappropriately. I'm glad you're done with him.

As far as the extensions go, maybe those just aren't the best type of extensions for your hair. They may work great for others, but it sounds like the links just slip right out of your hair. You may have to go with a different kind of extensions.

How long is your hair now? I'm sure you could do clip ins now while you grow your hair out. I thought your hair was long enough when you came to AZ even, you just need a lot of hair to make them blend. I'll help you get some great ones while I'm out there if you like.

If you really want something more permanent, get a 2nd consultation and research your other options.

this guy sounds a lot like the guy that used to do my hair.... he would always try to get me to go out to eat with him after doing my hair and would flirt non stop, knowing full well i had a bf.... i simply stopped going to him... he would overcharge me too bc he knew i was a dancer....... i know how hard it is to find a good hairdresser, hope u get someone good.

Very innapropriate. This is why I usually go to women for such services. I've had male hairdressers hit on me as well.

The price you paid was appropriate for the strands. And ordering the hair costs money, so it is understandable that he would want a deposit. Ppl change their minds, and the hairdresser can get stuck with an order of extentions in a color that no one needs.

However, his behavior is very creepy, and he is totally unprofessional. My extention lady makes good money off of the other lady in Austin who advertises online. She does a horrible job.

Kaylinn, there should be no reason you have lost that many extensions in a month. I also have fine hair, and probably lost a dozen over 3 months, at the most! Sorry that your experience is so poor. The best thing you can do is prevent him from getting future business!

But my hair isn't fine, that's whats crazy. My hair is very thick.

LR, my hair curls under my chin now. Well..the left side does. The right side is about an inch shorter.

I don't wanna take them out tho because I've spent so much money on them. The initial $1600, plus $300 the other day for the maintence. To take them out would be like throwing 2grand out the window...and I like the extensions. They lok perfectly natural. They just fall out like crazy.

Oh well. I'll find someoen new. I've been makign phoen calls as well...everyone I've found so far is even mor eexpensive than him.

On the bright side. I finally bought the bumble and bumble I was told to get. That stuff is crazy expensive for shampoo!! I spend over $100 on just shampoo and conditioner and a leave in.
Works very well tho. I like it a lot.

My mistake. For some reason I thought you wrote that you have fine hair. Brain fart on my end. But this further proves my point. He didn't properly wax that strands before he put them into the locs. When I was re-doing mine, my hairdresser had me and her daughter wax some of the strands to save time.

If we waxed one too thick or too thin, she would re-do it herself to make sure it was correct. There is a "magic" amount. Euro-locs are a huge pain in the ass for that. I liked GreatLengths better. But they were expensive!

No, he did not wax the tips properly. This has been obvious as the strands that have been fallign out are actually slipping from the loc themselves, and then the strands just fall apart. I can't even save them for him to put back in later because they just fall apart. When I emaied him abotu this...he just said he may have missed waxing a few...but it's happening with all of them now.

He must be waxing them to thin. Well..actually...he uses glue, not wax. What he does is he has a straightening iron that he puts glue directly on, then runs the strand of hair through the straightening iron, transferring the glue onto the hair. Then he rolls the hair back to a round tip.

But this can't be the main reason for my slipping because when I first got the hair done, he didn't need to bond the tips, they come prebonded. He just put them in my hair the way they came. He only rebonds the tips when he puts the strands back in that have fallen out.
But it does seem that I keep losing the same pieces over and over. Which would attest to the fact that he isn't bonding them properly.

Hmmmmm, we did them by hand. The wax was in a little case. She showed us how to do it, and how it should look. They do come pre-bonded initially, you are correct. But perhaps my lady did something else before to get them to stay.

That sucks, I would be so pissed.

What a pervy little tool. I'm sorry you had to encounter such unprofessional crap.

I've had 2 hairdressers who were guys. Both were great. One of them knew I was a dancer, and he was totally cool about it. That and he cut my hair and highlighted it just the way I wanted. Then he fell off the face of the earth. I miss him! Why do they have to be so hard to find?

I've decided not to ever tell my hairdresser, male or female, that I'm a stripper ever again. The guys want to hit on you and the girls (who may be secretly jealous) try to screw up your look.

K, this sucks! You've had so many problems with your hair recently. I really loved my locs too; so natural looking.

My hair was the one in the middle of the page with the quote "The color match is PERFECT!"

Good luck in your search for a new stylist. I hope you find an honest one that will analyze your hair and tell you if the locs are a good match for your hair type. You might need some type of fusion to prevent slippage.
