Default foundation - powder - concealer

the basic 3! what are your favorite brands? there's so many out there and i'm not a fan of trying testers on my face unless it's a one use sample.

i want a foundation and powder that cover well, mask imperfections, and don't look "cake-like" ....iow are still on the lighter side. also, i have sesnsitive skin.

as far as concealer goes, i have dark circles (genetic) that nothing seems to cover.

    suggestions?

Bareminerals.... use the big brush for foundation, the small one for concealer, and the mineral veil and kabuki brush for powder

Well, I'm very pale, with deep blue circles under my eyes, so makeup is hard for me to find. I tried a lot of the high end brands, like MAC, Clinique, Estee Lauder...and I could never find a foundation/powder/concealer that worked for me. They were all too yellow for my skin, and made me look ill.

I've had the most luck with drugstore brands, oddly enough (and I'm typically a makeup snob, especially about eye makeup).

For casual, lazy days where I have nothing planned but still want makeup (just in case), I just use Maybelline dream matte mousse. It has a good amount of coverage, and I don't need to use powder.

When I need a very finished look, I use Maybelline's Wonder Finish liquid-to-powder foundation. As I said, I'm very pale, so any irregularity and redness is very obvious, but this foundation gives me terrifically even, makeup commercial skin. And I never have to touch up.

I use Covergirl's Freshcomplexion concealer to cover up the eye circles, and Covergirl's loose powder.

The combination of these 3 has given me incredibly beautiful, even-looking skin. People stop me on the street all the time to ask me what kind of makeup I use. I finish up the look with my high end blushes, shadows, and liners, and it's really a pretty mix.

I really like Makeup Forever. I got their liquid foundation, and then their light palette of concealers. They work really well for all sorts of imperfections (the light one even has a green concealer for redness in it), and since there are numerous shades, you can pick and blend depending on your skin tone.

Concealer: Revlon ColorStay Blemish Concealer. I use it on my under eye circles as well. Not perfect, but meh; I have yet to find anything that completely hides my circles.

Foundation: Cover Girl Advanced Radiance. Holy fuck, I usually hate CG foundation, but this stuff has Olay ingredients to fight aging and brightens my face.

    Those are my picks.

I`m like kandie_kitten, for powder/foundation the drugstore brands work the best for me. I have tried alot of the higher end brands but they usually made me break out or just didn`t look right. The exception to that is the Smashbox Photofinish primer. After that I use CG TruBlend whipped foundation and Trublend powder foundation on top of that.

I use covergirl stick concealer and apply it with a brush. I use covergirl loose powder over my foundation. As for the foundation, I like the stick kinds because they last a long time and have good coverage. For everyday, I use Benefit and for work or going out, I use MAC (because of the heavier coverage and it lasts longer... it's just more expensive and makes me break out if I wear it for too long).

MAC makeup isn't for everybody but I use their concealer, powder, and Studio Fix foundation. I'm pretty happy with everything and have no complaints. Plus...I'll be getting my discount from them soon.

I use smoky mountain minerals. I pretty much just use the foundation powder, as well as use it for my undereye circles (dab instead of brush on). For work I use a mix of the bronzer and one of their veils.

my favorite powder ever is Kryolan's Anti-Shine Powder. it's white, fluffy, translucent, the prettiest angelic matte, and boy howdy does it finish off a face.

I was using Bare Minerals, which I still like, but I recently found a Chanel powder foundation I like better.

I loved the Chanel Teint Fluide Universel Foundation, but I think they stopped making it. I tried a different Chanel foundation and didn't like it as much.

Usually use Lancome powder, but I'm not in love with it.

Haven't tried Bare Minerals; what kind of coverage does it really give (like, for acne scarring and such)? Has anyone tried the new Loreal knockoff of this?

I usually use Physician's Formula concealers (the kind that come in a solid stick like a lipstick, not the liquidy kind with the spongy applicator), but recently picked up an Aveda concealer (liquidy kind) and I like it pretty well.

Mac concealer and Stila tinted moiusturizer. I don't need much face makeup. I usually steer clear of full coverage foundation or face powers. Not matter how lightly I apply them they always make me look cakey/ashy. I prefer a dewy fresh look.
