    Sad Surface anchored piercings...

Goign to get one of these as soon as the setting is custom made...

It'll be kind of in the center of my collar, where a pendant would hang.

Been thinking about it for months, made myself a bet that if i made my weekly goal, id do it as a reward, since i've made my weekly goals for almost a month now...even though I keep raising them higher(YAY!)

Going to stick with high quality precious stones, will fit in with my work look, and be subtle. I'm excited.

I wish i'd just gotten the peircing today, instead of consulting, and deciding to wait until my nicer setting is done(since it cant be changed right away).

Now it'll b 2-6 weeks before I can go do it. Which is good, more time to set money aside, though i HAVE the money, its better that its not all at once, relying on this stretch of good fortune at work...

    I'm SOOO damn impatient!

I want to be fighting to avoid picking at a sore new piercing right now! NOT in a month!

    Will TOTALLY be doing!

I was so happy when I got the idea, because it's PERFECT for me! And it IS pretty unusual... particularly since i work in an area where half the girls have their nipples or clits pierced, its nice knowing I'm not just blending in with my personality. And its not something terribly eyecatching that will mess up my modeling work.

Plus, the whole location has a lot of symbolism for me, reminds me a lot of my family, even though some fucker broke into my room and stole my jewelry box last year... I can't wear the actual necklace or explain it well anyways, and not just at work... So i'm reallly happy with the idea.

And its really funny. I've been sitting on it for months, because I wanted ot be sure i KNEW it would be right for me, and get more info... so it was good incentive for my hustle... I need to try it again later... If i make XXX this weeek, I'll go buy a new setting for the top of it!

I cant wait to post "reddish sad newly pierced skin" pictures. LMAO!

One of the girls I work with has these and there are always cool photos of them in the Straight to the Point ads in Exotic. They seem pretty intense to me but they do look very pretty.

Who has one? Is this in pDX, or one of the places you've traveled?

It IS hard to find people who do them, so Straight to the Point is actually my studio for them... And yeah, the ads are gorgeous... my mind boggles though to think of how expensive it must be, seeing as how a single one runs $120 minimum, and there's got to be 9-10 at least on her in the ad...

her atrist named it the "aimee" cause no one in his shop in L.A. had ever gotten it before...she said it bled some but then it was fine and healed very nicely...

The "aimee" is actually named a "Madison" piercing.

Hmm... just be careful. I had a surface piercing and it gave me nothing but problems. Forgive me for sounding like a mom, but I wouldn't recommend a surface piercing to someone who has no health insurance (if you do have health insurance, go ahead and get pierced and simply disregard my momishness). I say this because I went on multiple rounds of antibiotics and had scar tissue excised by a plastic surgeon as a result of bad healing and infection. This would have cost me tons of money if I hadn't been insured.

Monitor your healing very closely and go back to the shop at the first sign of any problems. A good piercer should let you know if you need medical attention. My mistake was getting pierced on vacation in SF when I lived in Key West, so I was on my own when my piercing started having problems.

So what would a person do if they got infected through the piercing? I'm assuming they would have to take it out asap.

I've wanted a surface piercing for awhile but can't get enough balls to do it. Anyone wanna loan me some? jk. I wanted one on my nape. Yea yea post pics when you're done and tell us all about it.

No worry's ToTH... I DO have health insurance through my family at the moment, so I'm not worried about that, if it came down to it.

The nape would be another good spot, but my concern would be that it would take longer to heal and h ave more risk of infection since the skin is moved around a fairish amount with your head, taking cloths on and off, etc. But i'll let you know what the experience/pain level is like, TigersMilk

That's so weird, I've been thinking about doing the exact same thing in the exact same spot. I've been thinking about it for about three or four years now. It is a very sexy and feminine area, and a small jewel right there would be enticing.

The only hting is I've had a peircing reject before, so I haven't got hte guts to do it where a permanent scar can't exactly be covered or ignored.

    From what I've heard...nuh uh

I think that would just cause the outside of the piercing to close up and leave you with a nice pocket of infection. I think thats what I've heard though. I'm no piercing goddess, I just didn't want anyone to automatically yank an infected one out.

I'd ask a pro before just yanking an infected piercing out. I think a round of anti-biotics and leaving it in would be best.

I had one--it was a third-eye. It was where a bindi would be. Everyone thought it was the coolest thing ever. It didn't hurt at all to get it put in, although you might experience some bruising around your eyes. Be prepared to get asked everywhere you go, "how is that in there?" I removed mine, also a painless procedure, because it kept getting irritated from rubbing on things like pillows, or my hands accidentally brushing against it. Sea salt soaks in a shot glass are great for calming down an irritated anchor. Good luck and have fun!

My roommate has one right where a teardrop should be. She got one of the first ones from STTP about a year ago (before then she had tygon going from inside of her mouth out to right by her eye! yeeeow!) She also has an anchor on her pubic mound. She said that one healed very quickly and she was comfortably having sex within a few days, while the teardrop took several months.

I'm going to get one above my navel before I head to Guam.

I've heard very very very negative things about piercing by NICK at STTP from multiple people, The other piercers are competent w/ it.

I have a transdermal implant on the same spot. Be prepared to slap a lot of hands off it when you get it!

Thanks anomar-I'll be sure that he's NOT who does it.

I think i'd be WAY too chicken to get anything done near my eyes. So kudos to your roommate...

Still no word on when the setting will be done... Depending on teh estimate i MAY get it done ASAP now, just so it will have more healing time before I go on my roadtrip/visiting family.

OK so i bought the setting. Just got to wait for it to be made though. The lady was goign to put a rush on it with the jeweler so hopefully it won't be more than a week.

I'm very geekish excited now. I cant wait for my little jade piercing!

Do you need a specialized setting to do it? When I went there to ask about it they didn't mention that there was a lot of prep necessary. I assumed I could just waltz in there and get it done same day (providing that the labor's available).
