    Post Areola reduction surgery

I was wondering if anybody had ever done this, because I'm considering it! Could you tell me about scarring, if you got the surgery around the base of your nipple or around the circumference of your areola, and if feeling totally returned? Thanks guys!!

May I ask why you are getting this done?

Sorry I can't answer your question but, aren't large areolas considered a turn on?

Well, I'd like to get it done because my areola are around 2" when relaxed(moderate B cup) and all of the sexy ladies I've seen have much smaller areola. I feel very self conscious about them.

I've never heard anything about large areola being a turn on. Perhaps I've just been hearing from the wrong people? A lot of men seem to be disgusted by "silver dollar nipples" or whatever. If I'm wrong please correct me, this is something I wouldn't mind being wrong about.

I've considered the surgery too.....after an unfortunate incidence at a school dance when my dress slipped; I was forever known as "pepperonis"....humiliating, I used to cry about it a lot.....

Argh, I didn't know there was a surgery for this either. OR that larger areolas are turn-ons

I have Large DD's and my areola's are about the same size as yours, (about 2" I'd say)

I'd think that it would leave a lot of nasty scarring But, as opposed to surgery... Maybe consider maybe getting tattooed in a slightly darker shade, a bit smaller?

I have large areolas too and nobody has ever said anything unflattering about them. I don't think there's anything unattractive about them. It's just more nipple variety. Nipples and aerolas come in all shapes and sizes. I've heard of the areola reduction surgery but I think the people who usually get it women who get their implants taken out and then their aerolas are really big from being previously stretched.

Mine are big as well and if i thought i could get a procedure to reduce them without horrible scarring i would so do it. A lot of people have told me they like big areolas but all the compliments they give come out wrong, such as "i like girls with meat on them" type of compliments which come out in a way that make me even more insecure. In order to disguise their size i make them get hard before i take my top off at work so they can shink up a little bit.

i got mine reduced when I went in for my BA. Theyre still big, a little shy of 2 inches, but less puffy, and they fit my larger breasts. I do have scars though, and my nipples no longer get hard at the same time, lol. They werent able to take a whole lot off and i certainly wouldnt have had it done if I werent already there for the boob job.

    All about my boobs...

There are some men who have a fetish for large areolae for sure, but I find the majority seem to prefer them smaller. The surgeries tend to turn out pretty well with minimal scarring as long as you go to a PS who knows their business - that is, knows to make the incision exactly at the border of the areola. That'll help mask the scarring. On the areola you'd get a white line while on normal skin you get normal scarring.

Mine are a little shy from 2" too when relaxed, they looked too big for my B-C-cups but now with DDs they work out alright. I do feel selfconscious if someone mentions that they're large (only happened once in my three years of dancing) but I really think they're a happy average. If they ever spread (breastfeeding, age) I'm getting them reduced. Maybe along with a crescent lift and bigger implants.

I'm seriously interested in this as well. Mine are huge, about 2in. They got much larger while breastfeeding, and they are fairly dark. I mentioned it to my hubby though and he REALLY didn't want me to.

For some reason, European women have smaller nips on average than North Americans. I don't know why.

Anyway, you'd be looking into a Benell/periareolar/donut lift, which most surgeons don't do without an implant. The reason is that it flattens the breast, so more projection is needed for a natural result.

There is scarring. The scarring you get depends on how you heal, how well you follow post-operative instructions, and whether or not you have an inflammatory reaction to the suture material your doctor chooses.

The only doc I'm aware of who does a modified Benelli technique without implants is Hilton Becker. His website is:

His implants look funny to me, perhaps because the 'after' pics are taken before the implants have dropped, but the lift pictures themselves present a level of scarring that would be tolerable for me, personally.

Ok, women have different sized areola all over. It isn't a European VS American thing, I'm not sure what you're talking about.

Second of all, many surgeons will do areola reduction surgery without implants, but after reading the responses to this thread, I'm convinced that I don't need it. Before I had thought that my areola were freakishly large and something to be ashamed of, but since it appears that quite a few others have large areola, I don't even care anymore. Thanks for the responses ladies, I really appreciate it.

You know, I have really big areola's too, my breasts are like a 34 b and my areola's are huge, especially when my nipples aren't hard, when my nipples are hard it isn't that bad and i'm self conscious about it myself. I have thought about getting breast enlargement and thought about how much bigger that would make my areola's stretch out, so maybe that's something I can ask the doctors about when and if I decide to get breast enlargement.

I have large areola's too and I've never had anyone say anything negative about them to me, even when I danced topless or nude. And they are LARGE...lol. If any of you have breastfeed, you know the round pads you buy to prevent the leaking, they are like a PERFECT fit to just cover mine...lol. I also have natural double D's so they dont look odd I guess because of my chest size.

I got this done as part of my benelli lift as well. Here is 9 days post op. This is a way more complicated surgery than it sounds so choose wisely.
