    Default Dance counters

Does your club count your dances? If so, do you keep an accurate count of the dances you do? Most places I've seen take a percentage or fixed amount of the dances you do. What happens when the dance counter counts too many? I'm always afraid of having them count too many meaning paying out more. I got deja vu'ed like that a while back.

I tried to keep count. They usually don't over-count., but I like to know how many I've done. I usually lost track. This was at DG's over a year ago, and they only took a dollar per dance. If it was a club that took 5 or more I'd be way more vigilant.

When I worked at deja vu they took $8 of every $20 dance. Yea the rip off factor was high.

The first and only club I worked at (Deja Vu) in Lakewood WA did that, and it's sooooo tacky. They were cool about it though, you could negotiate if you thought you were overcounted. Big hassle though...I switched to Fox's where it had a flat house fee. If you are good and make them money they should be good to you.

I've found that they generally under count. Actually, they ALWAYS under-count. If they come at you with too high of a number, tell them they're wrong. The floor guys who do the counting are VERY rarely (at least at the clubs around SD that I've worked) douchebaggy enough to make a deal about it.. especially if they're only off by a couple of dances (I couldn't imagine them telling you that you did ten more than you actually did).

i agree. once i did 9 and the guy goes "you did 5, right?" they arent paying that close attention. but i do always keep track for myself, because i'm certainly not going up and saying "well how many was that?" and just hoping they arent overcharging me. plus.. dont you have to count to get the guy to pay? if you dont know how many dances you did how to you charge him?

Our club counts our dances. They collect the money for the VIPs and we collect money for the $20 dances. I always get my money before I go upstairs, though...if they buy more time, right after I get down. Sometimes on the $20 dances, they have no clue, I come out and "collector" asks : "Was that 1 or 2?" ...ummm 5, but I'll take advantage when I can......
With all the stupid things guys will say, stay cool.

"Her apartment is littered with soggy G-strings and cheap 8-inch heeled shoes, along with empty tubes of body glitter, mascara, prescription drugs, zit cream, Aqua Net and Polaroid pictures of her and her "friends" engaged in some drinking and dancing on St. Patrick's Day last year. " My God....

They count them where I am, but I have only had them over count 2x, and both times it was only by a few and the manager was willing to take a few off. I keep track most of the time, but i don't worry too much if I forget. My club takes $5 for every $25 dance.

Plus, one of the floor guys is awesome and if he is tracking my dances, he won't charge me for all of them. Usually only half. I always tip him really well when he does that.

^^Thats what started to happen at the Vu when I worked there. The bouncer had told me that if I tipped better then he wouldn't count so many dances. Of course he over counted my dances that night to make sure I would tip good. Pfft. I was so put off by that I paid the club, didn't tip anyone and left for good. That night the club took about 40% of what I made that night.

They rarely overcount, and I keep close track of how many I did.
I'm also honest on the rare occasions they undercount..if they say I did 3 and I did 5 I'll tell them. Then when the rare occasion they OVER count comes up...they believe me because I'm honest.(and they usually dont make me pay if they under count.."well..I only saw 3, but thanks..wink wink"..then I'll tip them.

This is why my bouncers like me and try to steer me towards good custies whenever they can!

the dj keeps a tally, but 90% of the time it's "off".

they don't take a percentage out of your dance money though. they just do it to keep a "general" record of who's selling a lot of dances and whatnot.

At my club, the patron pays the house his twenty (or whatever the service in question costs) and I get paid a lump sum the following Wednesday. I sign for the dances/CR and get a receipt saying how many dances I did for how much. We are encouraged to keep track of these receipts so we know how much we should be paid and can compare accordingly. I like that system.

you dont get your money that night? you get paid once a week and you LIKE that? man, i would never work in a place like that. one of the perks of this job is cash in hand when you work.

It doesn't bother me. Plus its easier to get things like loans and whatnot when you have a paystub. Plus the stage tips can amount to quite a bit and I don't tip out.

^^^Where do you work, if you don't mind me asking? You don't have to tell me what club, I'm mostly interested in what state, as I've never heard of that happening in FL.

And hey, if it works for you, that's all that matters
