OMG I loved her booksHow sad!
I believe you Dottie and you have my support
Oh gosh! That makes me really sad too. Like, really really sad. I lose my shit a little bit every time one of my childhood heroes dies. I sobbed for days in grade school when Dr. Seuss died, and again in high school when Shel Silverstein passed.![]()
You know, I was just thinking about how much I loved her as a kid when I was in NY a few weeks ago during an unseasonable cold spell. I had packed summer clothes and the temperature dropped to 55, and I thought to myself, wouldn't it be great if I had a "Many Waters" supercomputer, into which I could type "Take me someplace warm."
No! She came to Portland last year to read, and I didn't get to go. She was my FAVORITE author when I was a kid.

How sad, I read everyone of her books, they were very inspiring...

Oh no!She truly had amazing talent. Will have to read her books again.
I LOVE A WRINKLE IN TIME!!! It's one of the first chapter books I ever read. I started reading really really early, I was a good reader![]()
I loved all her books too. How sad. I'll have to reread them all as well.
I remember reading her back when a Wrinkle in Time first came out. We had an ubercool children's librarian who knew what I liked to read, and she told me that it wasn't like what I usually read, but she really thought I'd like it. No, I didn't like it, I LOVED it!! I'm pretty sure I've read all her books, I'll have to double check that.
Wrinkle in Time was my favorite book when I was 10 years old! She will be missed.
