    Default jesus camp.

all i can say is wow.

first off let me say that this is MY opinion, and is not meant to shut down anyone's beliefs. i'm not knocking christianity... just that it's being forced on little children.

a 7 year old shouldn't be screaming to thier lord, "lord, stop the abortion!!"
a 9 year old should be going outside to play... not sing about nothing but god for fear that she will go to hell.
a little boy shouldn't call himself a "faker" because he questions his standing with god just because he isn't able to SEE god.

a child shouldn't have to have the burden that is EXTREME religion.

this woman puts these "jesus camps" together to create "warriors". she admits that it is brainwashing the children... scaring them into believing.

if you can watch this doc, DO IT. It was so great :]

Awesome, thank you for the link.

Hopefully America's political future will be...different by the time they're grown up?

what that documentary covers is Christian culture, not necessarily Christianity. An important and oft-overlooked distinction.

Many belief systems (including but not limited to religions) have cultures that grow up around them that don't necessarily reflect the foundational beliefs of the given system. Thus you have Southern California Buddhism (which is more a sort of weird Buddhist-culture than Buddhism), or...the stuff going on in this documentary.

Or to take an example more SW-oriented-- tantra. tantra-culture has nothing to do with the beliefs underlying the original tantric practices. or vegan culture vs vegan dietary practice.

I want a pony when I grow up. I think my odds are better.
