    Default tatoo?

Now that i'm finally single.. i think i'm going to do somthing i've wanted to do for a while now. Get a tatoo. Sounds lame, but when i was with my ex, he FORBAD me to get a tattoo. 'Good girls don't get them, they are ugly" NEVERMIND he had 2, and BIG ones! what a tard he was...... anyways..i'm thinking of a peace sign. Somthing funky maybe tribal almost, but not huge. I want it on the back of my neck. Is this a good area? or does it hurt like hell?

Pain is subjective....the back of my neck didn't hurt, but some will tell you that it does. I rather enjoy the sensation of tattooing though. In any case, after about 2 minutes of it, endorphins kick in, and it gets easier.

Just don't get it specifically because you're pissed at your ex, make sure you take the time to get something you love....otherwise you'll end up like me with a big piece of ugly that you'll want covered.....and cover-ups aren't too fun....tattooing scar tissue does get tender. Hope you love whatever you get!

My boyfriend also forbids me from getting tattoos. He hates them.

SO I went on a trip without him once...and came home with a very small tattoo on my hip. ( my second one. I had 1 before i met him)

Bad idea to forbid someone from doing something.....just makes them want it more.....

But yeah....tattoos are permenant. Don't do it to spite someone....

The pain....haven't found to be to bad, I have one on my lower back, and one on my lower abdomen, close to my hip, above my pubic bone. That one kinda hurt, but nothign unbarable....

I have a tattoo on the back of my neck and didn't find it to be painful. It was more irritating since I could feel the vibrations in my skull of the needle, so it was a really weird feeling. If you're not sure of what you want, visit a couple tattoo parlours and talk to the artists and find one with a style that you like, and you can design a piece together. But like everyone else said, don't just get it to spite your ex. It'll be on your forever.

My bf isnt too keen on tattoos at all either. Iv tried compromises - ie back of neck, easy to conceal. But I want it badly on my wrist. I have a thing about stars so it would have to be something like that. He is cool with feet tattoos on women but generally thinks they arent that nice on ladies.

So Im cool with the though of a foot/ankle one, though I want a star on my inner right wrist too.

And I would now love absolutely LOVE this tattoo in this place too

I think this tat ishot as fuck and I'm so so so so tempted!!

babystripper, I have a tattoo of a star on the inside of my wrist. It's just the outline and it's whie, so it's barely noticeable. When I showed it to my mom she couldn't see it at first, even when I pointed right to it. Have you considered that?

Oh wow, a white tatoo! That's pretty neat.. especially becuase it's light enough and easily concealed. Hmm.. but i'm kinda hippie- ish.. so a peace sign i would be proud to display.. neat idea though!

Where did you get a white tattoo??? Can you just walk into any tattoo parlor and get one with white ink? That looks fantastic.

Edit: Also, how does it look when you tan?

    White ink is awesome.

I've wanted one of my own ever since I saw Lohan's (not because of her, but the thought of a white tattoo never occurred to me beforehand).

I think most tattoo parlours have white ink, so it shouldn't be too hard to find one. I don't go tanning so I'm really not sure how exactly that would affect it, but the sun/tanning is supposed to fade tattoos in general, so I could see it being harder on a white one since it's already so light. The ink is also supposed to show up better the lighter you are, but I don't see why someone with a tan wouldn't be able to get one. Just ask your tattoo artist, I'm sure they'd know more!

I think if done for the right reason and when you choose something you love getting a tattoo can be a life changing event...wow that sounds really corny...but it's true haha! I love my tattoo but it took me nearly 2 years to decide on. I thought it would hurt alot more than it did...I thought it would feel like someone was cutting me but it felt more like I was getting burned. It wasn't as nearly as bad as I thought it would be and I love the end result. I guess I am pretty lucky because my SO LOVES tatts on women and would be so happy if I ever got more. Good luck with whatever you decide on!

I have half of my body covered in tattoos and i will tell you this. dont just get a tattoo cause you want one. its not just a "fad" get one cause it has DEEP meaning for you. I never understud and it pisses me off when girls get the tramp stamps of crap on there lower back. you ask them why they got it and there like oh me and my g/f's went out one night and just decided to get them.... um ok? but what was the point? did some one die and you got it for them. did something in your life happen that needed to be commerated? good chances no. I have alot of tattoos i wish i did not have ( i have my own gun and got bored ) so i say this from exsperance dont do it find a REALLY good reason to get one before you do

The white tattoos won't last very long, from what I hear. And the "breathe" pic doesn't look like a tattoo, it looks like a brand.
