Default My first day on a high protein diet

So, I had my first high protein day in a long time and I feel so much better.
I actually had energy and didn't feel like passing out..LOL
My body feels a lot leaner, firmer and toner. My muscles feel better too.
I've been eating egg white, mixed w/ spinach and parmesan for flavor.
I hope tomorrow is as good as today if not better.

Any veggie meal suggestions are appreciated.

I remember the first day I cut out bread and pasta and whathaveyou... I felt amazing, too!

I found some pre-marinated chicken at Vons... foster farms or something... I really like it! I'll spray some veggies (asparagus, bell pepper... tomatoes even) with olive oil, salt, and pepper and throw it all on the grill. Oh, and shrimps are yum yums!

How about steamed/grilled tempeh, steamed veggies and/or a salad with tahini dressing?

I had to cut out bread and pasta ages ago ! It was messing w/ my stomach, then I found out I have allergies to white & wheat flour. I don't even eat rice anymore, it causes the same problems.

I usually just eat veggies..So the added protein is nice and welcomed change for my body.

Oh, thanks for making me drool too ! I need to look for tortillas that aren't made from white or white flour.

Well, if you can find some tortillas, here's the recipe! Though I see that you don't eat rice anymore, so you'll want to omit that too probably

    4 flour tortillas
1 c. cooked brown or white rice
1/2 c. canned black beans, rinsed and drained
1/4 c. canned diced green chiles
1/4 c. canned whole kernel corn
    2 tbsp. thinly sliced scallions
2 tbsp. chopped cilantro or parsley
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
    1 med avocado, diced
1/2 cup shredded reduced fat cheddar or monterey jack cheese
    1 c. shredded lettuce
    1/2 cup bottled salsa

Preheat over to 350. Wrap tortillas in aluminum foil and warm in the overn for 5 to 10 minutes until heated through.

Combine the rice, beans, green chiles, corn scallions, cilantro, salt and pepper in a bowl. Toss to mix.

Divide the rice and bean salad evenly amount the tortillas. Top each with 1/4 of the diced avocado, 2 tbsps cheese, 1/4 cup shredded lettuce, and 1 tbsp salsa. Roll up and eat. Makes 4 servings.

I got this recipe from cooks.com. They have quite a few yummy looking ones

Oh, you're so bad ! My mouth is watering again ! Black beans are a big weakness for me. I eat brown rice, I forgot to specify what type of rice.
I'm going to use your recipe for tomorrow's lunch and use corn tortillas.

Heh, not bad! That recipe is actually healthy, which is an excuse to eat like twice as much right? Let me know how it goes!

The OP is a veg, and I have been too for about 2 months. Add beans, nuts, and low fat dairy to get high protein without meat. Eggs are good as well.
