Everytime I use one of those natural glow lotions or an actual self tanner, it doesn't stick on my boobs as well as the rest of my body, leaving them much lighter. Whats up with this? and what can I do to fix it?

i have tha same problem--i think its because we wear bras and they chafe some of the skin off more than the rest of your body..try not wearng a bra for a bout a day to let it absorb completely.![]()

i have the same problem, unfortunately not wearing some kind of support for a whole day is out of the question.
same problem here, and I go without the bra for the day and it still comes out lighter.
Eh...Spray bronzer helps even it out for me.
Same prob. I thought it had something to do with the skin stretching after getting implants. Not sure though, just never noticed till after my BA.
Yeah same here, and then when the tan starts to fade there is brown left only in the crease. Looks like cleavage rust, bleagh!

Me too! And I don't have a BA. Right now I just apply the self tanner from under the boobs downwards and use the spray on the arms, boobs, etc.

are you ex foliating the area on a regular basis?
I'm no expert, but I remember hearing talk on here about certain areas being faster to tan than others due to blood flow. Like the stomach tans easier because of the increased blood flow there.I don't know. I can't figure out why my lower legs always streak and fade horribly when the rest of my body always looks even and perfect.
I'm confused, but the Chewbacca Truffle Shuffle cleared it up. - Emily
I had this happen before the implants, too. I've noticed that the thinner and smoother the skin the less the fake tan sticks. So the insides of my legs and arms tan less than the outsides, the stomach tans more than the pubic area, the back tans more than the chest. It's just the way things happen naturally, I even it up with body make-up if I feel like bothering. If I slather on more self tanner it'll just streak and fade all ugly anyway.

Im not sure what the logic behind it is, but I heard that it sticks better to the areas with more fat and not so well to the thin skinned and less fatty areas.

could it be that our boobs are just paler to begin with due to wearing bathing suits so the tanner just looks lighter there compared to other areas that actually get tanned by the sun?

Maybe you could try doing the tanlines thing. Wear an old bikini you don't care about getting browned and has the fit for the lines you want, then spray away. This way you'd be working with the tanner's natural tendencies, rather than trying to swim upstream. (Those bronzer's can be a pain in the butt sometimes).

The reason is because the skin on the chest just does not tan as well as the rest of the body. This is because it is thin and delicate. The only way to combate this problem when tanning is to do a double application to the chest area only so that it takes better. Spray on tans will tan the chest area better than lotions so give the spray ones a go.
There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.
Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.
