I'm a black girl I want to start using self tanner lotion to cover up stretch marks until I can get airbrushed to cover them up. Does anyone know if it works on darker skinned women. I bought the one for medium to tanned skin tones.

Well, I use it, but I'm light skinned, w/yellowish undertones. I have the medium one, it gives a nice color, but I plan to get the darker one. This prob. doesn't help you out much, but from my exp. most self tanners, you need a darker one than you think.
You could also try one of the bronzers. They are basically like body makeup, they show color immediately, wash off in the shower. They might have a tester in a store you could try out firtst. I like the Rimmel one, used it in a photo shoot. Another self tanner that's pretty dark, is one called Sun. It's in a white bottle w/orange letters, kinda expensive 25.00 dollars or so. It's available at Ulta. There's a website, iamtan.com, they discuss self tanners too. Or try makeupalley.com, beauty product including self tanner are rated.

You won't notice much of a difference. I would go for a regular self tanner. You can also take a dark self tanner and mix it with lotion in your hand to tone it down. This also helps with streaking.
Agreed on the SUN Laboratories self tanner. That stuff is so dark, I swear it comes out like dark chocolate. I would use that on its own or mixed with a bit of lotion if I were you.
Being dark, it's really easy to self tan at home. It's harder to see streaks!
