    Default regulars and champagne

Do you think it's wise to push a decent spending regular to buy champagne? This guy has been coming to see me for a couple years now and he always spends about $100-$200 every time he comes in. I've brought up champagne to him a few times and he always has the same reaction, "like uh, hm, maybe another time." So I continue to bring it up every time. Do you think I'm just wasting my time and I should just let it be and deal with the $100-$200 he spends or does it sound like I should keep pushing it??

I take it you mean the room, not the bottle...

I wouldn't push the issue with him and risk alienating a good customer.

A cpl years and he hasnt caved yet? Dont bother. He isnt going to. Maybe like Chrissy said..mention it on special occasions..but I wouldnt expect it. Be happy with the $100 or $200 he spends on you and try to get a room with other custies.

that doesn't sound like a whole lot of money for a regular. How often does he come in? For me, unless he came in every week or two he would be more trouble than he's worth.

^ Well I don't think that has anything to do with him getting a room with her or not. He's still her regular and a source of income. We can't be bitches to ppl who like us and treat us with respect and see us regularly, just bc someone else is spending more. No--try to keep him, and stop trying to sell him it. He will feel like "she finally knows me." and like you more for it. I'd go with exactly what Chrissy says.

Some guys come in with the intent on spending a certain amount. Some can be swayed, but this one sounds pretty focused on not spending over his limit. I'd lay off a bit and bring it up maybe every three times he comes in or something so he doesn't feel too pressured and start avoiding you.
