    Default SW Workout Challenge! Oct. --?

    Okay, so...

    Who wants to do this?

    What if we had like, a support group for people who want to lose weight, or get more fit, but haven't yet started, and try to keep it organized by posting pics at the same time at a set date? We can all start now, and the 'deadline' to join would be October 1st, so mostly everyone can be on the same page? But of course it's cool if you find the thread after Oct. and want to join then.

    Is this a bad idea? A good idea? I'd like to hear thoughts/opinions...

    I'm already doing something like this at the gym with my trainer, but I would love all the support I can get!

    I'm in! I've used to be really heavy (about 160-170 on a 5'4 frame) and I got myself down to around 128-130. But because I did a lot of weights, my measurements were much smaller than my weight would indicate (34-24-3 This isn't the best picture to show, but you get the idea that I used to be toned and slim:




    Then I met this boyfriend of mine, who spoils me with going out to eat, a lot of nights out drinking. Withint he first 2 months of us dating, I put on over 20 pounds. I was always very slim fromt he waist up, but because I'm such a pear shape, always had a few pounds in my hips. Now it's all over:


    I'm so ashamed that I let myself get that big without noticing!

    I'm also working on improving my overall appearance. I just know when I tan or do my hair, I feel more motivated. So I got a headful of highlights and some good self-tanner, so here we go!

    I am in. Just went to the gym for the first time in ages last week, and then went again today. Some extra motivation would be awesome. I don't want to lose weight, but I want to get my abs back and tighten my butt.

    I DID just re-join my beloved gym today (the place has a steam bath! Oh yeah!). Rather than post photos, I will post measurements and my (gulp) weight.

    Cool!! I am so glad you guys think this is a good idea! Of course you don't *have* to post photos. Keep a blog! Maybe you could just photograph some generic uh, parts? Clothed, nekkid, it doesn't matter. The picture idea is cuz like...I have photos I'm embarrassed to post, like everyone else. But maybe that will help us all, and put the pressure on to really get serious this time!


    I just started this thread to-nite, don't worry Darcysexxyfoxx!

    We should all start now or Oct. first, and end at 2008! A good solid 90 days. Then we can have another round for those who didn't actually start in Oct.

    This is the get serious thread!

    Do you guys get SAD too? (the seasonal darkness bs) This is the perfect time to start so we feel that much better when the weather turns. Oh and Aussie girlies--perfect timing for summer, eh?!

    Maybe everyone can kinda get their "before" pic in b/t now and 10/1. Then it's ON!

    The following post I'll make a thingy, and it would be cool to see everyone else's! That way we can keep track.

    And yeah, I definitely get SAD in the winters. This will be my first winter in Seattle, so I'm a little worried. Thankfully I've got my trusty little happy-lamp set up on my desk.

    alright, well, I took my "smooth move" tea tonight so I can "feel clean" tomorrow. I'm pretty much gonna live off of watermelon, 'cos I don't have any greens here, but that's OK. I'll deal.

    i hear fructose is processed the same way just about any other sugar is (I have a lot of doctor and bioengineering friends.) however, I'd like to believe that eating fruit all day is still good for you in some way and a lot better than eating crap.

    Oh yah it would be super cute and get ppl jazzed up if you have pics in yr workout gear! This one is shitty and the mirror is at a 'skinny' angle, but I'll try to have better ones in the future.



    Starting stats: 5'4.5" 133

    Current 133

    Goal 120 by Jan. 1st! Work out 3-5x a week. And I won't freak if it's just a little off--I just wanna be healthy and more toned.

    What did you do today for workout? 1/2 hour cardio, lower body weights, 100 crunches on medicine ball

    Tunes! Cold, Course of Nature, Breaking Benjamin, Chimara, Goo Goo Dolls



    Feel free to tweak this rough blueprint as you see fit!

    I'm gonna stop with the annoying ass exclamation points now.

    OK, so the workout you posted, you think I should do more than that to lose 20 by dec. 1?

    ^ No way girl, that's working out to tha max, for me anyway. I plan to do cardio every other time after I get back down, so it doesn't wear out muscles (I was readin that somewhere.) That's workout is how I did it the first time, and in 3 months had awesome results. For lower body I do 12, 10, 8, 6, 12 on each muscle group, with increasing the weights each time, same with upper body. (Seems too tedious to explain on here lol) But actually it's adapted from the Body For Life book, and they have a women's version. My bf was the one who got me all into it, and he said that's how he started. I thought he was all silly for reading "those self help books" but whaddya know--it works!
