Is she seriously considered obese? She doesn't look it. She doesn't look '3x' either. It's kinda shitty that clothing companies make her a '3x'. How shit must you feel to know you're bing called 3x by label companies and you're not even that big?

It sucks ass but it doesn't surprise me at all. I mean hell, it only takes me 20lbs to go from a 4/5 to a 12 (or sometimes 14)...

That woman does not look 220 lbs. Being obese is not really good for your health though.

I do hate when girls talk about and compare sizes though.. I weigh 125 lbs and I am a size 11/12.. OMG i would kill to be a size 0!

i love it paige! and ^^ i agree!! i am 135 now and size 8, but the past 10 years i've been ranging from sizes 8-13. and i was never really "fat". 0 is some nonexistent number to me.

    Love it!

I stand in agreement with MsQwerty.
That fabulous little film, written and directed by Joy Nash - I typed the name out so that I might remember her name- is, for me at least, an inspiring comment on being yourself.

I love it. While I agree obesity isn't healthy, I love the message she gives. I love her outlook on life.

    I'll play the contrarian here.

I am sure that fat people get their share of, as she calls it, "fat bigotry." I appreciate that she doesn't like it when gets it from people. I am sure it doesn't feel good to have it happen to you.

But that doesn't mean that being fat is ok. It's unhealthy. It's not as attractive as being thinner. It's not something to embrace. It's not something for which one should "demand their rights" to have fat clothes. She wears a size 20? She has trouble losing weight? Well, try harder, or stop complaining.

I'm not saying that everyone should be a stick figure or strive to look like Paris Hilton...but conversely, it's also not a good thing to be 224 pounds at her height.

I thought piece was increadiably intellagent and well done I herd the message and its great for people of any size fat or not there is so much pressure on looks anyone at anysize can feel the way she feels. I also think that her intellagent video with a great message is on the backburner and the media gives the utube attention to chris croker.

I love this in that she takes life and keeps living and promotes the same idea. I do think that it is not only genetics that contribute and that it is very possible to lose weight.

I used to weigh around 220, so I can relate on many levels.

I was her and used all the same excuses and justifications she did. I was obsessed with losing weight and thought my life would be just like the girls in the music videos if I did. I could wear anything, get any job, have any guy I wanted and life would be perfect!

But I lost the weight and I have to say, I just find new things to obsess over. Being okay with who you are is awesome and I admire people like her that can be.

We are so huge here in the US that women look at me and call me skinny! Um, Hello! I have a 29" waist. That would have been a size 16-18 in 1955. Today, I'm a 4 or 6.

In 1955 a size 10 was a 24" waist. Yeah, we are pretty huge these days. It is kind of funny that I'm the same size I was in high school. I was considered fat back then. I was laughing with my husband that all I needed was to wait (weight?) out the trends and now I'm uber fashionable.

Size 10 wasn't considered big then, though. Just because it's now our 'size zero' doesn't mean size 10 was big to them or that they had a size zero. At least we can talk 1955, though. In Australia I know the average size is 8. Nobody thinks 8 is fat. I was told 16 was. It just means the average size goes up a different number.

And with vanity sizing and bullshit like that (which is probably how zero came to be) I wouldn't be surprised if that's why it happened.

I thought it was good! She's hot, I'd do her! I think as long as she's active she's OK. If the weight's a reflection of depression than that's an issue that must be addressed. But, I say the same thing for guys. They should check why they're big before accepting it. And for God's sake they should stop obsessing over women's weight and focus on their own.

What pisses me off is that what used to be called plus size is now called woman's size.

What, because I'm not significantly overweight, I'm not a woman?

    Fuck that PC.

^agreed. And I hate the "real women have curves" thing...what, because a girl is slender, she isn't a "real woman"?

It's refreshing to see a stong, confident woman put positivity into an issue that's typically regarded as something negative.
