Default Risks of sharing clothing - help me.

The club I work in has recently introduced a policy where when you leave the stage you have to wear a dressing gown to walk back to the dressing room.
    There are only 2 gowns.
Its a clean club and the girls are all lovely - Im not suggesting that anyone isnt clean. However making 20-30 girls all wear the same gown for a couple of minutes each night doesnt seem like a sensible idea to me. Especially since we are all totally naked under the gown and often sweaty from having just done stage.

Besides Head and Body Lice and Scabies, what other diseasies can be transmitted by sharing dirty clothing? I know there are a couple of skin diseases but I cant remember the names!

The other night one of the gowns stank of BO and one of them had a "mark" where someone had obviously sat down in the gown...

If anyone has related website links that would be cool too!

Im thinking of taking one in to use though it will be a pain in the arse having to run and fetch it before every stage set.
The gowns are annoying though, Id rather not use one at all, like we were doing up until the last few days.

oh that sucks. Do you have to go nude on stage?

I can't think of anything you can catch just from wearing the gown but girls should NOT be sitting down in the gowns in the nude that's just nasty!

I've already spoken (as such) with you about this...

Yes we have to go full nude on the last song without tips on stage.

We were able to have a few minutes after getting off stage at the side of stage to put on our GString before we were walked from the side of the stage to the dressing room by security.

I would also bring up the fact that if they want us to compulsory wear the gowns then they should be washed EVERY night plus they really do need more than just 2 gowns per night!

Not every dancer (as already has been shown and I can attest to it as I've done it a couple of times) will remember to return the dressing gown back to the side of the stage once she has re-dressed herself in the dressing room. She may have a dance she has to re-commence (after having to put it on pause to do the stage) thus her mind isn't on something as 'small' as remembering to return the dressing gown.

That mark has been there for ages btw. It is someone's discharge. It proves that they don't wash the dressing gowns each night.

Until they do I don't want to be wearing them.

Find out if there are any STDs or STIs that can be caught thru someone's discharge being left on the gown?

I know I'll mention something when I get back.

As for the bother of bringing your own dressing gown to use, I can empathise plus you have to watch it. One of the dancers there did the same, and the next thing it was 'stolen' by the club itself and had a logo put on it. Yup. So in actual fact one of those gowns aren't even owned by the club originally.

    *sigh*

If the girl is drunk (alot of them do drink whilst at work) I can see how she can forget she still has the gown on when in the dressing room and thus will sit there for a few minutes in the gown (thus on the gown).. or even if the gown is left lying/draped across one of the seats in the dressing room.. and one of the girls doesn't see it and sits on it naked before noticing... security won't remind us nor take the gown back to the stage "as they have better things to concern themselves with" *roll eyes*

I can tell you right now - no. It's gross and you can get other things, but most STDs and STIs are genital contact only.

Not to thread jack, but...I'm really confused by this. Why would you not have you own gown? Are you nude the entire time at work, even on the floor? Why only wear a gown to the dressing room?

Back on topic, I'd never wear something that everyone else wears, that's just gross.

Thats stupid and gross. Do they think people who JUST SAW YOU NAKED will go insane if they SEE YOU NAKED?? Like,honestly..whats the point??

And no...I wouldnt wear them. I'd bring my own robe in, keep it locked until me set and lock it back up when I get off. Or I'd just refuse...saying ooops....I forgot. If every girl "forgets" all the time every night..maybe they'll stop.

Okay, at this specific club where the stage is and where the dressing room is a short walk thru the club. Up until now (it seems whilst I've been away) it has been made compulsory to wear a dressing gown/robe when the girl comes off the stage and walks thru the club to the dressing room (escorted by one security guard/bouncer).

We are full nude on the last song. The robes are used as the owners seem to have a misguided notion (it seems) that this is more classy or something than a girl walking naked from the stage to the dressing room.... or more classy for the girl to not put her GString back on at the side of the stage (this is all in full view of the viewing public as there is no where to 'hide' to do any of this once you are off the stage) before being escorted to the dressing room.

Plus it can be quite bothersome to use your own dressing gown as one girl learnt. She did, then the club stole it (as such), put a logo on it and now it is one of the two gowns used. The other reason it is bothersome is you might have started a lap dance, have to pause it and go STRAIGHT to the stage from the lap dance with no time to detour to the dressing room.

The dressing room and lap dance area are at complete opposite ends of the club.

I still don't like it and recommend calling the health department.

OMG I could never leave stage naked to begin with

I ALWAYS put a cover up on when I leave stage to go to the dressing room.

Get your own, its not a pain in the ass to do and its much cleaner. Just make sure it stays in your locker when its not used.

The extra 30 seconds it takes you to grab your own will pay off in the long run...

Side note... in Western Canada it is actually a law that dancers MUST put a cover up(be it a robe or tube dress) on before leaving stage and it can not be a part of their costume they wore on stage.

Does your blanket count as your costume?

LoL No Kitty but in Alberta you are not allowed to use your blanket as a cover up leaving stage. Its a serious hefty fine.

We all run naked from our stage but our dressing room is right next to the stage so its a bit diff.

I think all the girls should kick up a fuss about it. Or the club should provide gowns for all the dancers.
