    Smiley Low carb foods

I just did a search and didn't find exactly what I'm looking for.. I'm grocery shopping this weekend and want to go the low carb route. I don't need recipes, just a list of foods that are low carb. So far my list consists of:

    1. Low carb wraps
    2. Turkey sliced at the deli counter
    3. Cucumbers

Anybody know of anything else? I'm pretty creative, and I like throwing together random stuff to make a meal so if anybody has any individual food suggestions I'd really appreciate it! I could however use a suggestion on some kind of spread to use for wraps.. Thanks!

Can't beat hummus for a wrap spread!

If I were you, I'd just cut out sugar and flour. Anything with sugar or flour in the ingredients, don't buy it. Load up on meats and veggies and whole grains, and you'll be set.

I like hummus and/or mustard for wraps, but I'm not sure if that's low carb. I also like plain yogurt mixed with hot sauce (tastes like spicy mayo).

    Most meats and veggies.

Some fruits, but they have more sugars too.

It depends on how "low carb" you want to go. If you're on a serious diet, I'd cut out fruits for awhile (this includes corn, potatoes, and carrots) and go with celery, lettuce...

I buy string cheeses, chicken breasts, soup, and eggs... and that's what I can think of right now. I also get those celery sticks prepared and sitting in water so I can dip them into that whipped, chive-flavored cream cheese or hummus.

...plain yogurt with hot sauce...i'm gonna try that!

    smoked salmon
baby spinach in the bag (makes a great base for being creative with salads)
    tuna in water
    lowfat yogurt
    egg beaters
oatmeal and thomas's lite english muffins...gotta have some carbs
ground flaxseed(get ya fiber on) sprinkle in oatmeal on salads
salmon steaks (i prefer wild...the farm raised kind are cheaper but they inject them with a carcinogenic red die to turn them pink again...they are grey when farm raised...)
    baby tomatoes
peppers(green, red, yellow) i like to slice them thin in salads to dip...
balsalmic vinegrette i use instead of mayo in sandwiches to be eaten right then...gets soggy if in bag for later
