Default Crystals- only for those that are superstitious

So I just came back from getting a massage, and I had this sweet little Philipinno woman who immediately asked what I did for a living. I usually don't bring it up, but since she asked I told her was a dancer. Apparently she works on a lot of dancers because she had all kinds of advice for me.

First of all, she started talking about salt. She said carry a little bag of rock salt with you and it will protect you. I asked why and she said because salt comes from the earth. ( I dunno.) Ok.

She also said I should wear crystals. They absorb the negative energy from my job. (Not sure about this one either, but I DO usually wear crystals or diamonds and I like the idea that the "barrier" might actually buffer me from my work in some mysterious way.)

Finally, she said that I should meditate and surround myself with 36 rocks, put my worries into the rocks, and throw the rocks away in the garbage outside when I was done. I don't know if I will actually do this or not, but a lot of people have similar behaviors, like rubbing worry stones, or pouring their emotions into their artwork or whatever...

I don't know. I know it sounds bizarre, but I think there might be some psychological benefit to mentally placing your negative energy into physical objects and then distancing them from yourself.

I also think its interesting that she suggested materials like salt and crystals to "protect" me because even at the molecular level those particular substances are highly organized and hold a lot of energy in chemical bonds. Aren't diamonds the most organized chemical formation in nature?

I know a lot of people are skeptical, but I think it could be a good idea to put a "buffer" between yourself and the strip club environment.

Just wondering if anyone else has heard stuff like this or does these things...

I did when I was dancing. I have more recently as a personal trainer. Sometimes I feel like it's partly power of thought.

I do... I carry jade, quartz, tibetan jet, rhodenite, chrysocolla and smoky quartz...they're all for different things, but I carry them everywhere, even before i started dancing. I do notice a difference when i have them versus when I don't, sometimes I'll switch purses and they'll be in a different bag than the one i have at work and i won't know it, and i'll have a bad night, go look to find my crystals, and they'll be gone.

I am the QUEEN of crystals. Not those rock kinds but the glass kinds. Do those count? I'm wearing like 40 right now and I still feel shitty about work.

A lot of people are skeptical about the whole thing saying "you just trick yourself into believing it, and give the credit for good things that happen to the crystal, when really they would have happened anyway"
well what i say to that is it's a great thing! anything that can help people tune into and recognise good things happening more is just grand in my book. And hey if it happens to actually work then thats just great too.

I have a toy sheep that i take into exams. This year i took 6 exams, I got an A in all except for the one i forgot to take my sheep in!!! Maybe i could have taken in a used hanky or a plant pot and got the same results? who cares i got 5 A's and am happy.

^ I agree. Who cares if it's placebo if the placebo works?!

Yep. It's just the power of positive thinking. You think this item will help you, so having it makes you feel better, therefore, you are better. Some people use positive affirmations, some people have good luck charms. Whatever works..whatever gets you in that happy place...more power to you.

Oh my God, I've been crazy about crystals since I was 11! I keep rose quartz and amethyst under my pillow and have complete recollection of my dreams...before I did that I could NEVER remember anything about my dreams. Now I have a clear memory in my head for the entire next week There are different stones for everything, and I 100% believe in their effects <3
At some point, most women (hopefully) realize that "the number" doesn't matter one iota and the notion of "slut" is just socially-generated bullshit meant to keep us "in our place". I will fuck who I please when I please and I don't give a rat's ass what anyone thinks about it.

I'm the queen of Black Onyx ! IMHO the best crystal for a dancer to wear / carry. If I was feeling particularly adventurous or needed to 'boost' my game, Sardonyx instead adds 'fire' to the mix.

I used to wear a black hemotite around my neck. It did make me feel a bit better...I dont know if the stone had properties or it was just a placebo...but I liked it. Plus it was pretty! Hemotite is still my fav. stone...I really need to get a new one. I lost mine when I moved...

^hemotite keeps you polarized and reduces the electromagnetic affects of things around you.

this is my thought about this is that crystals are minerals right? ok well you have minerals in your body...so wouldn't if you pass all your bad energy through around in your body that you could pass that into the crystals? There is a movie i have seen ( docum.) called what the bleep do we know.
it talks about how your energy can change the things around you.

some of the things about the movie that are pointed out are

The universe is best seen as constructed from thought (or ideas) rather than from substance.
What has long been considered "empty space" is anything but empty. see Dark energy
Our beliefs about who we are and what is real are not simply observations, but rather form ourselves and our realities.
Peptides manufactured in the brain can cause a bodily reaction to an emotion, resulting in a new perspective to old adages such as "think positively" and "be careful what you wish for

questions whether modern physics cannot be married with institutional religion as the film implies. the suggestion "that if observing water changes its molecular structure, and if we are 90% water, then by observing ourselves we can change at a fundamental level via the laws of quantum physics"

serously watch this clip it has to do with what you are talking about transf energy onto crystal.. this is transf energy to water. it takes a little bit to get into it.
i have watched this movie and i still dont get it all its like 4 hours long and mind blowing!
