a lot of people say X-Poles are the best.
you can go to the X-pole website and read about them on the forums. You can also find them on ebay for a lil cheaper sometimes.

I have a Titanium X-pole. I like it a lot. However, I'm a heavy hitter weighing in at 105lbs. I do highly recommend it. I just got off of mine, actually. I was practicing.

a "heavy hitter"!!?? I'm touching 140Lb, my Xpole is 11'5", and never budges! I would promise you that the the pole can EASILY take 200lb+!!

I have a pole at my studio which is mostly chrome, but has 500mm at the bottom of titanium (don't ask) and I actually find it slippier in direct comparison to the chrome right next to it!?

X-poles are by far the best (in my personal experience anyway).

If you're looking for a pole to practice your moves at home before pulling them off at a club, the chrome-plated 500mm one would be your best bet as this is what most clubs use. It's less grippy than the titanium one, so that'd give you a harder (but better) workout.

^ And I definitely second that Maisumi; ^

*pant* *pant *pant* - *sigh* .

The grip took a considerable amount of time to get the hang of, but I have successfully adjusted.

It will definitely build up your strength, as you would have to re-learn to shift and distribute your weight on the chrome. Because of its slickness, it will be a challenge if you are accustomed to brass. Other than stainless steel, chrome is the slickest of pole surfaces. (Citation: Djoser )

Thanks for the honorable mention, but what I have now is worse than chrome! I fon't know what kind of steel it is, but it's whatever they use for electrical conduit pipes.

When I first tried it I was instantly reduced to the level of a newbie. Fortunately it wasn't too long before I figured it out. I'm glad I stuck with it, though--it's made me way better on the brass.
