    Default Lipstain

Hey guys I am looking to buy a lipstain so it will stay on my lips through eating and drinking, what's everyone's favorite? Plus it's a different look than you get with lipgloss, more of a natural "from within" color, lol. Although I do wish they made it in light pink!

Some are kinda pricey, so I dont want to blow my money on a bunch I dont like!

I don't really care for the lipstains. I am a fan of applying lipstick with a lip brush, then blotting off the excess with a tissue. I am so over gloss! I only use a tiny bit now in the center of my lipstick to give it some dimension.

Damn woman, am I not allowed to like anything? lol

I've used a lipstain once in the past, I know why I like it. I like that little bit of tint just to brighten up my lips without it being obvious that I'm wearing something, plus it lasts a pretty long time, whereas both lipgloss and lipstick I eat off within minutes.

I havent worn a lipstick in years, and the last time I did I really didn't like them. Since you are a fan, what do you recommend, MAC?

I was recommending it b/c if you blot most of the lipstick off, its enough to stain your lips and the excess is gone so you don't eat it off. And its also cheaper than lipstain and you said you wanted light pink. Yes I use MAC for the most part, also Nars and MUFE.

If you want a lipstain, UD makes one that comes in a few colors. You can check reviews on makeupalley.com.

Thanks hun I will have to try that. Last time I tried lipstick it was too drying for me, thats probably why I shyed away, but I also didnt use top brands.

I go on makeupalley all the time but it usually confuses me more than helps me because theres always people who hate and love something, lol!

urban decay makes lipstain, as does revlon, in one of their new "jewel tone" theme collecctions.

I wear it, and after its absorbed, put a bit of gloss over it. Very subtle.

Stain makes my lips look dry and cracked. It also tends to accumulate in the little wrinkles, accentuating them and making me look like a witch or something. I've tried LatinaRose's lipstick trick and it does work very well, especially with bright colors like red. I also like Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer when I want something subtle; it's a lip balm with just a bit of color, and it looks quite natural if you pick the right shade.

Sonia Kashuk's lipstain is sold at Target & it's really great. It's liquid & you can apply one layer for a light wash of color or more for an intense red. It stays on for a while, & slightly seeps past your lipline to give you a fuller pout, but not a bleeding look.

Thank you! I will look into the revlon and sonia kashuk ones since they are cheaper!

I dont know if I am alone in this..but urban decay's packaging just kind of annoys me, the whole look of it, lol. I'm prob the only one.

    ^^I love UD's packaging! I think it's fun.

I also noticed that Nars now makes a combo gloss/stain. You might want to look into that one, Nars products are great. Not cheap tho, I think it was $24.

lol, I figured I was probably the only one.

I'll prob try the sonia kashuk one first, it has great reviews on makeupalley. There are quite a few lipstains out there but they are harder to find because theyre not very popular. The one lipstain I owned was by liptini (I think?) Anyway I loved it but I lost it and can't find it anymore. It was only $8 too, but on clearance.

I will look at Nars next time I am in sephora, I have a gift card there!

I don't do stains, but my mom loves the Nars one. It looks good if your in to stains.

Ok ladies, I went to Target to buy the Sonia Kashuk lipstain, but when I saw it in person it was just way too red for me. I don't think that color would be flattering on me.. SO I ended up buying the Revlon Bitten lipstain in Berry Juicy and I will update with a review after I try it!

I have a Burts Bees Lip Shimmer and it is a nice subtle look but I don't really like the fact that it tingles! *sigh* Yes I am a picky bitch, lol.

Hey girl, I saw this new product from Vincent Longo on Sephora. It's a combination lipstain/lipstick and it comes in a bunch of colors.

I want to try it, but I don't know when I'll get around to it. If you try it, please give me your review on it.

I use Nars lipstain with a little lipstick and gloss over it, for work, of course. It's too dark to wear anywhere else. As for eating and drinking, I haven't found any lipstain that can withstand that and still look good.

LR, that lipstain lipstick looks cool but I wonder if it is any good! Let me know if you do try it because I probably won't be trying it anytime soon.. And the weird thing is the last time I went into sephora looking for vincent longo they said they dont carry it anymore!!! I looked online, they still do but no longer in stores?? Or maybe just that Sephora? I dont know! I had been looking for their pearlessence lipstain http://www.sephora.com/browse/produc...ategoryId=5318 which in theory sounds PERFECT.. a stain with shimmer that comes in lighter colors! But it got bad reviews on makeupalley. *sigh* I'll look for it in another Sephora

I do like the Revlon Bitten lipstain I bought. The color is pretty bright (as is the case with all lipstains methinks) but I put some lipgloss over it to tone it down and when I eat the lipgloss off my lips still have color to them! Some reviews say it is "watery" I dont have a lot of experience with lipstains so I am not sure how it measures up to others, but the consistency is not a problem for me. You do have to put on enough to even out the color, not sure if this is the case with others or a problem inherent in the type of product!

This lipstain stays very well, the next morning my lips are still slightly tinted! Which is the whole point of using lipstain, the staying power.

One day I went to Sephora and tried I *think* Lorac's stain, and by the end of dinner it was all gone!!!! To be fair, my lips may have had residual lipgloss on them that may have prevented the lipstain from adhering properly.. I'm not sure, but there is a chance since I was out and about and I usually wear lipgloss out.

Anyway so I would recommend Revlon's bitten lipstain! It stays well, it comes in four colors, and compared to the other brands it is a lot cheaper!

But next time I go to Sephora I will have a look at the nars ones too
