    Default Quitting pot

    First....

Alrite, there are a lot of "Quitting Drinking" threads on here. I really want to let you all know that those have inspired me to quit drinking as well (although I'm not much of a drinker, I would usually have 2-3 drinks at work, and now I have 0!). Reading those threads motivated me and gave me helpful tips to stop drinking altogether.

    Now....
I am going out on a limb here, I hope I am not judged, but I smoke a good amount, daily even. I searched this forum for threads about quitting, but there were none that I found.

I need to quit. It makes me so lazy, zoned out, and tired all the time, not to mention shitty sleeping habits.

So I wanted to know, anybody ever have similar experience? I need tips and advice on how to stop.

    Thank you

I'm a smoker too. I live in Ca and have a card for it.

I've quit in the past by going cold turkey. Since I now do yoga, I don't smoke as much..I mostly smoke for pain management and stress. Which are both helped by yoga. I'd try doing yoga, any type of excercise helps but, yoga helps to relax and focus. Also Bikram yoga provides a euphoric high, simular to my smoking experience. I also want to add that it sounds like you're smoking too much indica.
Indicas provide a body high, hence the laziness. Grand purple and the purples are the only indicas that don't make me feel that way. The main reason I don't smoke indo. I lean towards sativas or crosses between the 2.
    Hope this helps,
    FH

I am glad I don't have an addictive personality really and though quitting smoking cold-turkey 7 years ago was rather tough, I think the main factor is personal will power. If you just half-ass it and tell yourself that it's okay to just take a hit here and there, you'll be back sucking on that joint quicker than one of your customers can whip out the bills.
Best of luck to you though!

Try to cut ties with anyone that can supply you with it. I have trouble finding people to sell to me, esp good quality, so I don't smoke that much and am forced to go for long periods without. Keeps me from getting too into it.

I also only allow myself to smoke an hour or two before bed, because I mostly smoke to help me fall asleep. Keeps me from eating too much too!

Here are two sites that will help your willpower. Knowing the harmful affects of such heavy use will firm up your decision to quit.

Have you ever tried to quit and it didn't work so well? Or are you just afraid of how it will go because you've never tried?

Last year I quit smoking for 2 months to pass a drug test, and just to see if I could do it. All my friends smoke and my roomie smokes, so I was a little scared, but it was no problem. The two months didn't exactly go by fast, but I never gave in once. By the end, I felt noticeable more clear headed and my lungs felt better. I knew that it wouldn't be hard to continue being a nonsmoker, but I chose to continue smoking sparingly after that. Before the situation I smoked almost every day, since then and still now I smoke about once or twice a weekend.

OMFG, the towel!!! That's one of the funnier images I've seen all week...lol.

I'm sorry I can't offer much up in the way of advice, I've said to myself "just don't BUY it" yea oh well and good, but it would fall into my lap daily from every source imaginable. That was back when I was slightly social. Now I'm so not social I can't even get it half the time. So besides cutting everyone out of yr life, I'm lost too.
