    Default I Need to Wail

So I had some friends over that I had not seen in a long time to my apartment. We were having a good time, kicking back a couple drinks. One of them had gotten married, the other just turned 21. It was a time for celebration. We got a bit rowdy, so my upstairs neighbor came out on her deck and asked us to tone it down. We apologized and went back in.

*knock knock knock* someone knocks on my door and I answer it. It is my upstairs neighbor's roommate, to tells us, in her words that her 'sister needs to get up at fucking four in the morning so quiet down." I don't feel like getting into a confrontation, so I apologize, mention that her roommate made spoken to us not two minutes earlier, and bid her good night. I was talking to my friends about it when I hear a diesel rumble behind the apartment building. It was a tow truck, and they had my friends' car hooked up and they were about to tow it away. There was a football game at my university and the landlady was having un-stickered (like apartment stickers) cars towed. I had tried to get ahold of her, but I couldn't, so I had placed a sign on their car stating that they were visitors of apartment B**. Well, they decided to tow anyway.

I ran onto my deck and said that the owners of that vehicle were visitors of mine, and not to tow it. They said they were to tow any vehicles without a sticker or permit. I asked if there was any way to stop them from towing. I ran down to stop them before they left. They said the only way they would let the car down was to pay them $60 in cash and they would. They would not accept a check or credit (which credit I would understand, but check?) I panicked and paid them. They let the car down and they left. My friends gathered their things, and they DD drove them home.

I was extremely upset, because I feel in my core that I've been ripped off, but I'm drunk and desperate and a woman, so I paid them because my friends could not afford storage, towing fees, etc. My boyfriend by now, who is mildly drunk, has fallen asleep. I'm at tears now, and all I want is a hug. I shake him and ask for a hug, but he's in deep sleep by now. I can't wait for him to wake up, so I hug him and sob for a moment, when he pulls his arms up, shoves me away, and rolls over.

I'm so upset. So much bullshit in three hours. I just want a hug. If anyone is away, can I please have a hug? I need one really bad. No one else will give it to me.

Aww, it sounds like you've had a rough evening. Sometimes when things aren't going well and there is alcohol involved they feel worse. Hope you get some sleep and feel better tommorrow.

Who knows if they did. Tow truck ppl are REAL ASSHOLES. I've dealt with a REAL LOT of them in Jersey--do they get commission on every car or what? You did the right thing....I've never paid less than $290 for a tow in similar or less circumstances...maybe that's just Jersey tho, lol

No. I thought they did, but I found a 'receipt' outside from the tow truck saying I had paid $60 to release the car, and it was indeed stated on the back that release was $60, along with the cost of other fees, which vary from vehicle to vehicle, etc.

And the more I think about my neighbor's pissy sister, the more pissed I get.
