whereabouts in the uk are you thinking of going? pm me if you like. i have worked in the west and generally i've found that dances are between £5 and £10 for table dances and £10 to £20 for VIP. dirtiness-wise, i can't say for the whole uk but i've found a lot of clubs have a very strict no-touching rule. in terms of shifts, you usually need to work at least one slow week night to get a shift at the weekend. pay was pretty damn good, especially this time of year, sucks really badly after christmas/in the summer though. hope this helps

Firstly I'd split London off from the rest of the UK as there are more options there. In the rest of the UK there are several clubs on all major cities and one or 2 clubs in most towns now. Generally they only open late { 9pm or so} and go onto 3 or 4am in the morning usually 5 or 6 days a week. Most clubs recruit direct though there are some agents like Laptastic. Most places are strictly no touching but in some places { eg Birmingham} the authorities are less strict. As a rule nude dances are £10 but there are some £5 places { eg Liverpool} and some posher places charge £20. A lot of places just charge a commission { 25% or 30% would be typical} though some charge flat house fees.

In London there are still a couple of old style Soho strip clubs, 20 + strip pubs, and 20 or so lap dancing clubs. The top lap dance places are Spearmint Tottenham Court Rd and Stringfellows, they charge very high fees/commission rates. Then there are people like Secrets, Sophisticats, Majingoes etc etc. Several places like Secrets, Windmill etc recruit via the Stage every week { which should tell you something}.Then there are strip pubs, the best place in London to work is probably Browns/Griffin as it's nearly always busy and has a maximun of 10 girls per shift. The White Horse's in Shoreditch and High Wycombe are both good strip pubs. The clubs only open late and run until the early hours, the pubs are open at 12 and normally shut at midnight. Pub shifts are shorter and while they do charge house fees these are normally less.

Have a look in www.strip-magazine.com for info on the various clubs and have a look in the articles section of www.mypole.co.uk for more background info.

Yeah unfortunatly the UK threads are mostly centred around London which is a shame. There are snippets of other bits of info though (-:

Its strange how there are so few Uk girls on here really.

it is weird how few of us there are. it would be awesome to have more info about clubs around the country. i know tyke knows a lot from the customer perspective, but it would be good to talk to fellow dancers.
come out of the woodwork please ladies! i know there are a few who post regularly, how is your club right now money wise?

    Hey you,

finally somebody else from Uk ??? Yes it would be great if more people shared their experience. London has been up and down, more down lately to be honest.... A few of my co-workers went to try other clubs last week but haven't heard anything positive, although should get better report if I get to talk to them this wk.

I wanted to try Birmingham as well, apparently it used to be quite good but don't know about the current situation. Northampton has a newish club so thought I might give that a try as well but they take something like £6 out of every dance (=£20) so not very keen on that.

I'm planning to work and work between mid Oct and the end of the year as I'm considering getting a corporate job so need to save up as much as possible... What is it like up in North ??

hey sydney! up north we always tend to do quite well but i'm working in a very new club that just isn't that well known about yet so there's a definite lack of customers! i know girls in other more extablished clubs aren't doing too bad, although i think this is a poor time of year for clubs anyway?
i wish we had a birmingham girl who could tell us some more!

There are an awful lot of clubs in Birmingham { and Dudley, West Brom etc} these days, I can't imagine they are all doing well at once but Legs 11, SR Hagley Rd, Medusa etc used to be busy.

I've been to a few recently in Birmingham and they were all packed.
Me & hubby had to fight to get the girls we wanted, and even then by the time we left, we didn't always manage to get the girls we wanted because they were constantly off dancing.

I'd say Medusa was the busiest by far.

Im a UK dancer, I currently work in the south.

I have worked a fair few clubs down here.

Elegance in portsmouth, Angels in eastleigh, For your eyes only in southampton, Divas in newquay, Graces in Brighton, Wiggle in Bournemouth.

Elegance in portsmouth (south coast) is where I learnt all my stripper ways lol. But I left there due to conflict with management. The fee system there is good but the club is very out of the way from the night life which poses problems as a new club opened in the heart of the nitelife of portsmouth recently, so has been taking custom away hand over fist. Dances are £20 full nude of which the club takes £5 every time. £10 table dance of which the club takes £2 every time.

Angesl in eastleigh - fantastic house feem drink as much as you want, awesomely cool management - never any customers - so that one needs to be taken off the list! Dances are £15 topless, its a topless only club. Or 15 minutes of topless dancing for £50.

For your eyes only in southampton, is my current residence. Its a lovely club, lovely girls, cool management. Fridays and saturdays its busy as hell, during the week its hit or miss. Sometimes the housefee is in your favour sometimes its too much. You pay £20 starter fee at beginning of the night, the you pay £5 on your first 6 dances only, there after you get the full dance amount. Then there is a top up fee at the end of the night that is usually around £20-£45. So with the starter fee, commission an top up fee you look to pay around £70-£100. I must say though at £20 a full nude dance and £10 a table dance the fee's work out quite cool as after 6 vip dances you get to keep the full amount. Also the girls do well on sit downs alot charging anything from £80 per half hour to £250 per hour.

Divas in newquay, full contact club. First time I worked there it was £70 house fee - nothing else. Earn and charge as much or as little as you wanted and I was making £750 a night there. Now they have changed the system to a voucher system. Before taking a guy for a dance he pays the vip check list guy the £20, vip guy then give you a voucher worth £20 and 20% is deducted off your entire earnings at the end of the night. Being full contact you would think that it would be easy to entice guys, however there are all kinds of levels of 'contact'. With simple girl touching guys chest, knees etc, all the way to girls wrapping their legs around guys necks with kitty's in faces!!! So That is a personal total no go area for me as I couldnt put out enough to earn money and compete with these ladies!!

Graces in brighton. Lovely club, expensive drinks. Same vouchers system as mentioned above however, far easier to get a dance/sit down. Lovely people. Small stage/pole area. All of the girls are absolutely beautiful, with amazing figures, hair, faces, outfits make up. It does actually make you start questioning yourself a little!! One of the nicer clubs, though you really have to be good at sales to promote yourself over the other stunning girls. £20 fully nude dance. Club takes 20%.

Wiggle in bournemouth. Beautiful inside club, £30 paid up front to start then top up fee at the end of the night. Hard to get dances, £20 a fully nude dances. Girls are ruthless, will sit on a customer even if he is talking to you!!!

Also things I hear from other dancers -

Spearmint rhino in bournemouth is a lovely club but harsh on house fee's. Thy basically take a clean cut of 50%.

For your eyes only in bournemouth sounds fantastic and will possibly be my next club of choice to try.

Other than that for down south, you're looking at Stringfellows etc in london.

    I hope this helps

    xx

2nd club in portsmouth is called Heaven sent.

Its a small club, very small, capacity for fourty guys only. But has quite a steady stream of guys so I hear. Small pole at floor level, no option for topless floor dances - only £20 vip. The girls don't really go on sit downs much just £20 dances. As far as the dancing goes its full nude - anything goes - apart from insertion. So legs open etc is allowed. Fees are

    2 dances = no fees
    3 dances = £10 fees.
andything above 3 dances you dont pay a set fee - just 20% at the end of the night.

Yep, great review and I have to agree with you about Divas in Newquay.
I was there in the summer although just for a while as at that time it went downhill rapidly. I think this is another prime example of managers f**king their club up because of their greediness...

Went to work yesterday and it sucked. London has been extremely slow lately.

I actually think the main problem with a lot of UK clubs is that the management at most only thinks about maximising the house fee. They therefore have far too many girls on for the level of custom and in order to keep the numbers up they will take on almost anybody. Hardly any places put any effort into the stage show and unlike the US there is little advertising or promotion. As a customer then the experience consists of paying to go into a place with overpriced booze to be pestered non stop by average looking girls while sitting in a very dark room. I'm not surprised people stop going.

Interested to hear the Birmingham clubs are still busy, I suspect that is because the " no touching" rules there are are not taken very seriously.

Anybody on this thread tired out Leeds? I've danced so far in Manchester and London and found the money to be pretty so-so. Was thinking about checking out Leeds this weekend.

If that doesn't work out, then maybe Birmingham??
