Anybody know of any legitimate links to statistics about strippers? Mostly just the general, percentages of single moms, students, stuff like that...

may i ask why it's needed?
Oh please dont tell us you are writing a paper!!!!

Yeah, I just wanna know why you need stats on strippers.

I figure it's a paper, too.

Noooooooo not another paper! Dammit, what are people trying to figure out when they decide they are going to write a paper about strippers?

I would be interested to see some real stats, but I doubt they exist.
This is all you need to know- I make more money than you and I'm hotter than you! Rowr!
Naw, I'm just clowning around. If you use the "Search" function on the site, you'll find a few linked articles, including one survey where a dancer claimed a gerbil or hamster was thrown at her during a stage performance. "OH, the Huge-Mammaries!"*
* Like, "OH, the Humanity!" Get it? Tee hee.
one day, i am going to write a paper about non-strippers. what percentage of bank tellers are single moms? what percentage of k-mart cashiers are students?
it will be fascinating. regular people are such an interesting species.

I'd like to see a statistic on how many papers about strippers are floating around our higher education institutions.
Also, out of these papers, a percentage breakdown of the the grades received.

I'd like to see how someone would FIND those statistics.
Strippers are like ninjas. You never know how many there are or if the person next to you is one.

OMG I would love to see a question about strippers on my stats test tomorrow...
If the probability of a stripper making over $1500 on a Saturday is 0.02, and the probability of a Stripper drinking champagne on any given night is 0.65, then what is the probability of a stripper making over $1500 on a Saturday given that she has drank champagne?

^^^I think it is .017. But I could be wrong, I need an answer key.

there's no valid stats. partly because 'stripper' is never clearly defined as a category by the people researching. they are too weighted down by their agendas to think about that part...
there are ways to get valid and even interesting data on strippers, but none that are used by people claiming to 'study stripping'.
Even if you COULD find out, I'm sure it would vary by area. You'd THINK someone would have tried to find out and publish something... but I've never seen anything of the sort.
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.

nah, accurate data would be a problem for both strippers and stripper-haters alike, actually, but explaining why is beyond the scope of this thread.

this thread again....scroll down to "similar threads"
Not a writing a paper... I've been dancing for two years and just wanted some hard facts to back up my opinions and observations when I'm arguing with my friends

your opinions and observations are colored by your own stripping environment, your greater surrounding environment, your life background, your ethnicity/ethnicities, and etc. you may be a very unrepresentative stripper, or a very representative one. but determining that involves manipulating a lot of variables most people take utterly for granted to come up with a 'representative' stripper and find out how various strippers in various circumstances resemble or deviate from that precisely structured imago.
if you are just trying to defend stripping to your friends, all the statistics in the world aren't going to change their minds if they think it's bad for you or anyone else.

Can you make polls on this forum? Why don't you just do some polls and figure out your own stats?
