Long story short: I'm utterly broke right now; there's no way I can afford to join even the cheapest gym or buy any exercise equipment. However, my confidence is at an all-time low b/c I haven't worked out at all in about 2 months. I'm un-toned and chunky and just looking BLAH. Not to mention I feel like a perpetually tired, cranky, weak pile of crap. Which means I make crap money at work b/c I look bad and feel awful about myself...nice little catch-22 there.![]()
So I figure even if I can't afford a gym or any fancy equipment, I can still use my resistance band for flexibility exercises, get my lard ass up early and jog outside before it gets hot for cardio, and use my partner in crime's free weights to do at least some weight training (I'm used to and prefer the machines, but I don't have access to them right now, so these will have to do.)
Problem is, I have absolutely no idea what to do with weights. I've always used weight machines and have no clue where to start or what kind of exercises to do with these. They're like alien objects to me. I guess I could pick them up and randomly move them around in the air, but that doesn't sound too effective.I'd rather have some idea of what I'm doing. So, does anyone know of any good sites that can help explain how to use free weights and get me started with a few exercises to do with them?
